LONDON – The Teenage Cancer Trust held its regular series of fundraising shows in March at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Supporting the charity, XL Video supplied LED screens, an HD camera system, recording and control for the series of seven events which were curated by Noel Gallagher.

XL Video Tours UK Arenas with ‘Strictly Come Dancing’

LONDON – For the sixth consecutive year, XL Video supplied full video production for Strictly Come Dancing – The Live Tour, which once again drew crowds to various U.K. arenas. Video plays a key role for the live shows, where celebrity dance couples battle for supremacy on the dance floor. The 2013 tour included reigning Strictly champion and Olympic gymnast, Louis Smith, dancing with Ola Jordan.

XL Video Names Lucas Covers CEO

BRUSSELS – XL Video has appointed Lucas Covers, former CEO of De Boer Structures and Philips Home Networks, as its new CEO. Covers has served as a senior executive at Philips where he held several international positions. These included the management of the digital video business, Philips Home Networks, located in Paris. In 2008 he became CEO of De Boer Structures, an international supplier of temporary and semi-permanent structures.

LONDON -The latest UK arena leg of Mumford & Sons’ ‘Tour of Two Halves’ world tour featured 2,547 of XL Video’s latest product, the FX-200: small opaque plastic balls encasing LED clusters which can be fitted together and configured to suit any design.

XL Video Supplies Robbie Williams’ O2 Shows

LONDON – XL Video supplied its newest products to Robbie Williams’ three nights at London’s O2 Arena recently, using more than 2000 new Pixled FX-200 LED spheres. The set and stage architecture was designed by Production Designer Mark Fisher with Creative Director Willie Williams and overseen by Executive Producer, Lee Lodge.

XL Video Supplies LED for Skyfall’s Royal Premiere

LONDON – XL Video, commissioned by Limited Edition Events, recently supplied 300 tiles of their Pixled F-12 LED for the royal premiere of the new James Bond film, Skyfall at the Royal Albert Hall. XL’s Project Manager, Mark Rooney specified Pixled’s F-12 LED for the event due to its high brightness and clarity. In addition, Pixled F-12 is also suitable for outdoor use, essential for the unpredictable British weather.

XL Video Supply Projection for Kentucky Wildcats

LEXINGTON, KY – Rupp Arena wanted a spectacular launch for the Kentucky Wildcat’s 2012-13 season, so Bob Stoops, Technical Services Manager, contacted XL Video to specify and supply equipment and crew for a projection directly on to the 94×50 ft basketball court. As the court became a screen, the rousing video was the perfect introduction, and got the 23,500-strong crowd pumped and ready for the scrimmage.

XL Video Supplies The xx Tour Projection

LONDON – XL Video is supplying a high power projection system and Green Hippo Hippotizer i7 HD media servers for UK indie band The xx, who are in the middle of an 18-month world tour. Much of the show is about video being used as a light source for creating moods and atmosphere, silhouetting the band, or capturing them starkly in the projector beam paths with undulating multicolor gobo-like effects and fluid, subtle laser-like moments.

XL Video Gets Jazzy at Montreux

MONTREUX, Switzerland – XL Video supplied LED screens, media servers and control for the special Freak Out All Night Dance Party event at this year’s Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. XL Video specified more than 70 square meters of their Pixled F-11 LED, which formed the flown screens above the stage and a front piece for the DJ booth.

XL Video Invests in New Barco HD Projectors

OOSTENDE, Belgium – XL Video has invested in 66 new Barco high-brightness projectors. The HDF-W26 projectors have already been added to XL’s equipment catalog and will replace the older 20K projectors over time. Barco will deliver the 3D-ready HDQ-2K40 projectors later in 2012.
