The Story Behind the “No Brown M&Ms” Legend

Many in our industry have heard the legend of Van Halen’s tour rider with the “No Brown M&Ms”. Some know it well and know its origins, but many do not. In this video David “Diamond Dave” Lee Roth explains the origin of this rider clause and how it was used to catch promoters who didn’t read the band’s tour riders and to ensure production safety needs were meet. In this anatomy of the clocktower sequence they, along with Lighting Designer Hugh Vanstone, Illusions Designer Chris Fisher, Sound Designer Gareth Owen, and Director John Rando give a detailed explanation of how they collectively make the sequence work to the amazement of theatergoers.

CMA Awards Tribute to Jimmy Buffett

During the 57th Annual CMA Awards on November 8, at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN,  Kenny Chesney, Mac McAnally, Alan Jackson, and Zac Brown Band paid tribute to Jimmy Buffett. DWP Live Project a Veterans Tribute at the National WWI Museum and Memorial in Kansas City, MO

Event production company DWP Live recently provided projection support for a veterans tribute at the National WWI Museum and Memorial in Kansas City, MO. The installation was illuminated over five nights and included a veteran-honoring artwork projection titled Horizons that visitors experienced while they gathered on the grounds for the 2023 NFL Draft. Video of the Week: ‘From the Sails: Light Years’ Celebrates Sydney Opera House at 50

The Sydney Opera House is celebrating its 50th birthday this year and the festivities included projecting the film, From the Sails: Light Years, onto the Opera House’s iconic sails. Light Years was created with principal artist Sam Doust of experiential design and technology company Art Processors, and features contributing work by artists Jake Duczynski and Jason Poley. The film celebrates of one of Australia’s most beloved buildings through a stunning light projection and live-sync soundscape designed and composed by Andrew Stevenson, Hylton Mowday, and Josh Paton.
