Main Light increased its rental inventory of Ayrton lighting fixtures with the purchase of a large complement of versatile new Zonda 9 FX fixtures. The company currently has offices in Delaware, Tennessee, and Las Vegas. Main Light has seen a steady demand for its Ayrton Perseo, Khamsin, and Diablo fixtures, which were acquired during the past two years. The LDI Show returned to Las Vegas after a busy year of live event productions across North America. The aisles were busy with production pros seeking to gear up for another busy year ahead, with exhibitors unveiling as many new products as steadily improving supply chain conditions would permit.
The University of Houston recently took advantage of the University Outreach Program from Vari-Lite, the originators of the modern moving head and Signify entertainment lighting brand, which enables emerging lighting design students to elevate their production looks and facilitates hands-on professional fixture experience. The American Society of Theatre Consultants (ASTC) mourns the loss of longtime member and Fellow, James “Jim” Read, FASTC, who passed away on November 2, 2022. Read served as a President of the ASTC and was a constant presence at organization events. $900,000 in General Operating Support Awarded to 22 Theatres
Theatre Communications Group (TCG) is pleased to announce the recipients of RECOGNIZE grants as part of the THRIVE! Uplifting Theatres of Color program. With $1,635,000 in support from Doris Duke Charitable Foundation (DDCF), TCG is working in partnership with an Advisory Circle of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC*) to provide unrestricted funds for Black theatres, Indigenous theatres and Theatres of Color (BITOC*) based in the U.S. (including Tribal Nations and U.S. Territories). In this inaugural round of the program, The Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation has joined as a supporting partner for theatres in Western states.
