In Memoriam: Richard ‘Nook’ Schoenfeld

A remembrance of Richard “Nook” Schoenfeld, 65. Editor Emeritus of PLSN magazine and a noted Lighting Designer and Writer, Nook died on the morning of Dec. 14, 2022. Though he had beaten pancreatic cancer this past year and was cancer-free, complications from that fight resulted in liver failure. He was a legend for his wit and kindness and his loss is felt by family, friends, colleagues, and the industry as a whole.

Creating a Visual Playground for Lauv

For Lauv’s “All 4 Nothing” tour, Parker Genoway of Silent House described the design of the LED structure that provided a blank canvas for Blink-Inc.’s blend of video content and I-Mag. “The shape of the LED structure stemmed from the idea that most shows play with horizontal space, and we wanted to force ourselves to play within a more vertical canvas. We also raked the floor to ensure all fans could see the surface. It was a delicate balance of finding something that visually catered to the audience but was also safe and practical for Lauv to run around on.”

Celine Royer is a lighting designer, lighting director, and programmer who loves music and creating shows that appeal both to the audience and to the bands she works with. She has had an unusual path into lighting, switching from being a hairdresser and a singer in a band to a career as a lighting technician in France. She moved to the United States so that she could work with bigger shows and acts than the ones that were available to her in France. She has now worked with many different bands and acts including Jennifer Lopez, Linkin Park, Mike Shinoda and on Rupaul’s Drag Race for the World Tour and the Vegas residency.

Red Rover Entertainment Delivers All-Round, Adaptable Elation Rig for Faouzia Tour

Upon completing a string of European performances in July, global pop star Faouzia began preparations for a fall North American tour that saw the Moroccan Canadian singer playing dates across the U.S. and Canada.
