Trey Anastasio Band and Goose: Four Heads are Better than One

Trey Anastasio Band (TAB) and Goose co-headlined an arena tour in the northeast with Lighting Designers Marc Janowitz for TAB and Andrew Goedde for Goose. Joining them on the road were Lighting Directors / Programmers Patrick Hayes for TAB and Tony Caporale for Goose. Their great teamwork and creative synergy resulted in two equal but distinctively different full blown shows every night.

In Memoriam: Bob Roach, Lighting Industry Veteran, 67

Bob Roach

Robert David Roach, 67 of Longwood, FL, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 7, 2023. Bob had recently been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and received a successful bone marrow transplant from his son, Mike. Sadly, in his weakened state he contracted pneumonia and was not able to rebound from it. He was born in Johnson City, TN on March 25, 1955 to John and Josephine Roach who preceded him in death. Hidden Splendor of Artiste Mondrian™ on Church of the City Christmas Services 2022

Nick Chang has been overseeing lighting for services and other events at Church of the City in Nashville since 2020 and again handled lighting programming and direction for five Christmas services this past December. Employing Elation’s Artiste Mondrian™ LED profile FX luminaire on the worship services, Chang hid the multi-functional moving heads behind a blow-through LED wall to create a variety of impactful and unexpectedly striking lighting scenes. Ghost – A Design Like None Other

The Swedish rock band Ghost recently wrapped up the third, North American leg of its Imperatour tour for which Brazil-based Lighting Designer, Erich Bertti was once again back designing along with the band’s lead singer Tobias Forge. Also returning to support the Ghost tour and Bertti was Senior Account Manager, Steven “Creech” Anderson and Madison, TN-based Premier Global Production, providing lighting, rigging, truss and crew. Bertti and Anderson fill PLSN in on the design and their working relationship for Ghost’s tour.

TCG Announces RECOGNIZE Grantees for THRIVE! Uplifting Theatres of Color

$900,000 in General Operating Support Awarded to 22 Theatres

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) is pleased to announce the recipients of RECOGNIZE grants as part of the THRIVE! Uplifting Theatres of Color program. With $1,635,000 in support from Doris Duke Charitable Foundation (DDCF), TCG is working in partnership with an Advisory Circle of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC*) to provide unrestricted funds for Black theatres, Indigenous theatres and Theatres of Color (BITOC*) based in the U.S. (including Tribal Nations and U.S. Territories). In this inaugural round of the program, The Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation has joined as a supporting partner for theatres in Western states.
