Lighting Designer Matt Smith (of Colourblind) again took full advantage of GLP’s fixture versatility when plotting the scenography for the American leg of RÜFÜS DU SOL’s tour. The Australian creative used a selection of GLP’s impression X5, JDC1, and impression X4 Bar 20, deploying them in mission-critical roles. The Sydney Opera House is celebrating its 50th birthday this year and the festivities included projecting the film, From the Sails: Light Years, onto the Opera House’s iconic sails. Light Years was created with principal artist Sam Doust of experiential design and technology company Art Processors, and features contributing work by artists Jake Duczynski and Jason Poley. The film celebrates of one of Australia’s most beloved buildings through a stunning light projection and live-sync soundscape designed and composed by Andrew Stevenson, Hylton Mowday, and Josh Paton.

George Ezra’s Lighting Director Chris Taylor and Production Manager Jake Vernum were very happy to see Robe on the lighting specs for the recent Australia and New Zealand legs of the popular UK singer / songwriter’s Gold Rush Kid tour. Eleven Robe MegaPointes on the upstage truss have been present throughout the whole tour which kicked off in Spring in the UK and Ireland, then extended into a lengthy festival section as Ezra and his highly talented band delighted audiences across Europe.
