Abbas Ritscher and his team at The Design Oasis made up for the lack of front-lighting at the Rolling Loud festival’s Snipes Stage by grabbing 12 extra Chauvet Professional Maverick Storm 1 Wash fixtures from their inventory and hanging them “as far down the stage as we could” for a camera-friendly lighting design. The lighting rig that George Gorton designed for Dallas Smith’s Some Things Never Change Tour took on a life of its own over the course of the early summer, seeming to expand, contract and morph in new directions with every show. After a 19-month pandemic-caused hiatus, the Juno Award-winning multi-platinum country star took off to play some live music on May 24, and invited some friends to join him.
