Popular Americana and R&B singer songwriter Nathaniel Rateliff and his band The Night Sweats played their show-stopping, sold-out annual homecoming holiday concert at the Ball Arena in Denver, CO, in December. It was the second time the annual event – which has been running for some years – was staged at this venue, after moving to the larger space in 2022. The lighting was crafted by Jeremy Roth, who has been Rateliff ’s Production Designer since 2017. Slovenian indie rockers Joker Out are the hottest musical act of the moment in this lively, beautiful, and dynamic European country. Formed in 2016, 2023 has been a mega-busy year with lots of touring shows, representing Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest in the UK, and recently playing a show-stopping sold-out performance at Ljubljana’s biggest arena venue, Stožice, which was lit by Klemen Krajnc, part of the Blackout design studio. Myst is a colorful, full-throttle cabaret-style musical megamix encapsulating some of Mexico’s rich and vibrant musical culture and history as it rips through two hours – split into two acts – of fun-fueled exhilarating live performance, staged at the Foro Totalplay in Mexico City. Trey Anastasio Band (TAB) and Goose co-headlined an arena tour in the northeast with Lighting Designers Marc Janowitz for TAB and Andrew Goedde for Goose. Joining them on the road were Lighting Directors / Programmers Patrick Hayes for TAB and Tony Caporale for Goose. Their great teamwork and creative synergy resulted in two equal but distinctively different full blown shows every night.
Copenhagen’s Det Ny Teater (The New Theatre) has recently invested substantially in new Robe moving lights with the purchase of 16 Robe T1 Profiles that have joined the house rig together with an additional 20 Spiiders (bringing the total to 30).
