Samsung S5 Launch Event in South Africa Lit with Robe Fixtures

JOHANNESBURG — For the South African leg of the Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone launch, LD Renaldo van den Berg and production manager Victor Vermaak from Johannesburg-based AV Unlimited used Robe moving lights. The gear list included Pointes, LEDWash 600s, LEDBeam 100s and LEDForce PAR 18s — 48 of each — along with other moving lights.

TUT’s Breytenbach Theatre Adds Robe LED Fixtures

The fixtures impressed those looking after the lighting system at the school’s Breytenbach Theatre, a.k.a. “The Breytie.”

Gearhouse Takes Over Prosound Rental Operations in South Africa

JOHANNESBURG — The Gearhouse Group announced its takeover of the rental operations of Prosound, another South Africa-based provider of pro audio, lighting, AV and staging services. Prosound will continue its focus on lighting, AV and sound integration projections along with event design and sales.

JOHANNESBURG — For the South African version of the hit TV dance competition, So You Think You Can Dance, LD Robert Grobler from Gearhouse South Africa (GHSA) is using Robe DLX Spot and DLF Wash fixtures. The shows were taped at the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC)’s Renaissance Centre venue in downtown Johannesburg.
