Danish Music Awards Uses Sharpys in Televised Show

COPENHAGEN – LD Kasper Lange used Clay Paky Sharpys in his design for the Danish Music Awards 2012, held in November in Copenhagen and aired on TV2. Copenhagen-based Litecom supplied the fixtures, which were used throughout the show and to a big effect for Danish singer Aura.

LOS ANGELES – Upstaging is supplying Clay Paky Sharpy fixtures on Kelly Clarkson’s Stronger Tour.  “With their very bright concentrated beam and fast effects, the Sharpys hold their own for such a little light,” reports LD Roy Bennett.  “They really add another layer to the picture.”

Swedish House Mafia Uses Clay Paky for DVD Shoot

MILTON KEYNES, UK – For Swedish House Mafia’s DVD shoot, LD Ian Tomlinson specified Clay Paky Sharpys to add more effects to the show at the National Bowl at Milton Keynes. Tomlinson followed a ‘less is more’ approach, filling the gaps for the camera shots and lighting the stage and audience in a visual onslaught. HSL supplied 60 Clay Paky Sharpys, which were attached to the bottom of the video pods.

Sharpys, grandMA2s Perform at Made in America Festival

LOS ANGELES – Clay Paky Sharpy fixtures and numerous grandMA2 lighting consoles were on hand throughout Budweiser’s Made in America Festival, which entertained crowds on Philadelphia’s Benjamin Franklin Parkway on Labor Day Weekend.  Jay-Z and Pearl Jam headlined main stage concerts on Saturday and Sunday. Nick Whitehouse was the lighting designer for the main stage, while John Duncan, Jr. of Pinpoint Lighting was the lighting designer and equipment supplier for the B stage and electronic dance music pad.

Clay Paky Sharpys Shine for Lostprophets’ Homecoming

CARDIFF, UK – Clay Paky Sharpys provided visual impact at Welsh rock band Lostprophets’ homecoming gig. LD Ian Tomlinson of ADLIB Design used Sharpys for their parallel beam effect, particularly shining the beams into the audience. He chose the fixtures for that laser-like look and the way they cut through other lighting in the rig, he says.

Sharpy Highlights Norway’s ’90s Concerts

OSLO – Though the Clay Paky Sharpy was not around in the 1990s, it was used to recreate the lighting scanner look of that era in the “We Love the ’90s” concerts across Norway. LD Philip Lindhfelt chose the fixtures for the sold-out tour.
