Silent House Backs XC-5s for Major World Tours

AABYHOEJ, Denmark – When production designer Baz Halpin of Silent House found features he liked with SGM’s new XC-5 LED strobes, he tried them out during rehearsals for P!ink’s world tour and has since chosen them for Taylor Swift’s tour as well. PRG is supplying the fixtures for both artists.

SGM Illuminates Christ Light

SANTA CATARINA, Brazil – The statue of Jesus Christ overlooks the city of Balneário Camboriú, with one arm outstretched, welcoming visitors from near and far, and the other carrying a symbol of the sun. The statue’s recent lighting installation uses just six SGM P-5 LED wash lights to shines a different color each night to symbolize peace, love, health, faith, happiness, nature and energy.

SGM X-5 Ticks the Boxes for Henrik Lundin

STOCKHOLM – Swedish LD Henrik Lundin, a member of the Stockholm-based company Satellite Live, he recently been touring with eight of SGM’s new X-5 LED strobes. They were provided from the new office, SGM Sweden, headed by Mikael Uddh. “Because we were often visiting clubs with limited access to power, the X-5, with its low power draw when compared with the traditional energy hungry xenon sources, became a natural choice,” he says.

MAIDSTONE, KENT, UK – More than 1,000 LED light sources from SGM have brought the new 1800-capacity Wonderland nightclub to life in Maidstone, Kent. Commanding the focus of attention is an overhang comprised of 225 of SGM’s 1-meter length pixel tubes interspersed with 784 LED Pix pixel cubes.

SGM’s Build Up for Qlimax

ARNHEM, The Netherlands – SGM’s products recently put on a display at the dance event, Qlimax, held last month at the GelreDome football stadium in Arnhem. Lighting/production designers Jonas Smith, Tamil van Draanen and Marcel Binnenmarsch chose 24 SGM Six Pack (SP-6) blinders – operating from the VIP decks – along with 28 SGM P-5 washlights and 25 x X-5 white strobes flooding the stage for 30,000 fans.

SGM Sets Up New Operation in Germany

KOLN, Germany – SGM Lighting has formed SGM Germany. Spearheading operations for the Danish lighting company are Michael Herweg and Thorsten Sattler, who were previously managing director and sales manager respectively of SGM’s German distribution company, dB Technologies Germany. The formation of SGM Germany is a joint venture between the two partners and the parent company.

Wonderland Nightclub Lights Up with 3D Pixel Tube Display from SGM

NORWICH, UK – The biggest display yet of SGM’s LT-100 3D pixel tubes has appeared at Wonderland Norwich, a new nightclub. The club’s motif, a twist on Alice in Wonderland, includes 220 of SGM’s 1-meter long pixel tubes suspended above the dance floor. An additional 66 strings of SGM LB-100 LED light balls shine along the length of the display from the ceiling.

SGM LED Packs Blast into Life in Germany

COLOGNE, Germany – SGM’s German distributor dB Technologies Deutschland has sold the first 300 SGM P-5 LED washlights to some of the country’s leading rental companies. The dB Technologies MD Michael Herweg admits the reaction has caught him by surprise. “We decided to make up starter packs after we had measured the response,” he said. “We will be approaching all our key accounts this month and demonstrating the new products in our 700 sq. meter showroom in Köln. The reaction has completely exceeded expectations and these are exciting times for SGM.”

SGM Provides Solution for Source of Light

AMSTERDAM – Amsterdam Arena was transformed into an oasis of white recently for the premiere of Sensation’s new show Source Of Light, when 40,000 people gathered under a huge dynamic spherical center piece dominated by LED strips from SGM. The company’s Dutch distributor RentAll were asked to provide the most dynamic single LED statement yet seen, to decorate an all aluminum, 14 meter radiating sphere, weighing 12 tons, and operated by multiple motors.

SGM Appoints Rep. de Audio as Mexican Distributor

MEXICO CITY – Mexico City-based Representaciones de Audio have been appointed territorial distributors for SGM Lighting. SGM was formally introduced to the broadcast market by its new distributor during the recent Telemundo exhibition, and having been established for the past 25 years, Representaciones de Audio believe they are well placed to exploit the SGM brand potential.
