There are now many rumors and discussions swirling around the industry about why and what this means so PLSN reached out to Signify [the ownership of the Strand brand] to clarify the situation. They told us that this filing is a part of the ongoing unifying branding effort of Signify to centralize its entertainment lighting products in a single legal entity, Vari-Lite LLC, and with focus on the Vari-Lite brand for all new entertainment products.

Moscow Theatre Invests in Philips Selecon PLCyc1 Fixtures

MOSCOW – Moscow’s Teresa Durova Teatrium na Serpukhovke performance venue has invested in Philips Selecon’s PLCyc1 luminaires in a major upgrade to its lighting equipment, replacing a dozen 1250W asymmetric tungsten cyc floods. The Theatre’s head of lighting, Vladimir Evstifeyev, invested in the PLCyc1s after testing them in the venue in early 2013.

Philips Selecon SPXs Shine Bright in South African Theatre

PRETORIA, South Africa – The State Theatre has invested in 77 new Philips Selecon SPX luminaires. Philips Entertainment brand partner DWR Distribution supplied the SPX luminaires to local installer Muthiyane Trading. Simon King, Head of Lighting for the Pretoria Theatre, says the fixture’s “crisp white light with no pinkish hues deliver high definition pattern projection as well as the color results our visiting companies expect. The interchangeable lenses also make them ideal for our various versatile venues.”
