America watched as country music’s biggest stars graced the stage of CMA Fest 2022, which aired on August 3 on ABC. BENOWA, Australia — For the 2014 Bruce Lynton Charity Golf Day and Charity Ball held at RACV Royal Pines Resort here May 9-10, sponsor ULA Group teamed with Jesse Radatti from Digital Lighting Solutions to light Australia’s hard-rocking Choirboys with fixtures from Robe. The lighting rig for the event included 20 Robin Pointes, 28 Robin 600 LEDWashes, 12 Robin 100 LEDBeams and two Robin CycFX 8 fixtures, all controlled with a grandMA lighting console.
COOPER CITY, FL — Czech Republic-based lighting manufacturer Robe Lighting named Ambrose Gumbs, based here, technical service department manager. Gumbs served with Martin Professional for close to 14 years, starting as a bench technician before specializing in lighting console and PCB repairs.

DURBAN, South Africa — The 2014 Metro FM Awards, which served as a celebration of 20 years of democracy while also bestowing 19 awards recognizing excellence in the urban genre of music, Johannesburg based Dream Sets provided a lighting design that included Robe fixtures in the rig. The event was staged at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Conference Centre here in March, and along with the 19 Awards, it included eight live performers. It was broadcast live on the South African Broadcasting Corporations’ SABC 1 TV channel.
PRETORIA, South Africa — DWR Distribution, Robe’s South African distributor, provided bright, energy-efficient LEDWash 600s for a lighting system upgrade at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) here. The fixtures impressed those looking after the lighting system at the school’s Breytenbach Theatre, a.k.a. “The Breytie.”
TALLINN, Estonia – LD Rene Johve’s design for The Song of Estonia competition, whose winner represents the country in the Eurovision Song Contest, used more 80 Robe moving lights, including 32 Robin Pointes. The Pointes were used to create the core look and feel of most of the major lighting scenes in conjunction with the set lighting.
BIRMINGHAM — White Lies toured U.K. venues in December with support from Colour Sound Experiment, which provided custom truss from James Thomas Engineering and Robe and Clay Paky gear. In addition to Robe CycFX 8 fixtures, MMX Spots, LEDWash 1200/300s and Clay Paky Sharpys, the visual design paired Colour Sound’s BT18 LED screen panels with Robe Media Spinners.
