OSLO – LD Don Weeks relied heavily on Robe Lights to bring to life Yes’ Three Album world tour. The design included 12 Pointes rigged onto a double triangular scaffolding structure upstage and on two downstage side towers, left and right, and utilized for most of the effects lighting.
JOHANNESBURG — The 2014 Ghoema Afrikaans Music Awards, staged at the Big Top Arena in Carnival City here April 13, was the latest in a string of high profile events in South Africa where Robe fixtures played a key role. The show, named for a barrel-shaped drum, was lit by LD Mauritz Jacobs from Dream Sets for a live audience of close to 3,000. The production was also taped for broadcast a week later on Afrikaans channel Kyknet.
HOUSTON – The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, held at Reliant Stadium here March 3-22, included 60 Robe Pointes and five DLS Profile fixtures. LD Systems once again supported the event, which featured a 20-night run of performances by country stars including Brad Paisley, Eli Young Band, Reba McEntire, Usher, Chris Young, Selena Gomez, REO Speedwagon, Jason Aldean, Jake Owen, Maroon 5, Keith Urban, Hunter Hayes, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Blake Shelton, Easton Corbin, The Band Perry and Zac Brown Band.
HIGH WYCOMBE, U.K. — Dry Hire Lighting, based here, added more Robe fixtures to its rental inventory, pushing the company’s cross-rental inventory of moving lights toward the 1,000 mark. The latest order included a mix of Robe Robin Pointes, LEDWash 600s and LEDBeam 100s.
