Robe Specified for Shark Ray Bay Dive Theater

CINCINNATI – Chad Kuney of Full Spectrum specified four Robe ColorSpot 250 AT moving lights to illuminate the interactive Shark Bay Ray Dive Theater at Newport Aquarium, just outside Cincinnati, OH. The four ColorSpot 250 ATs are rigged off the ceiling grid at the back of the theatre.

Fineline, GLS Get The Pointe

UK – Two UK lighting rental companies were among the first on the UK mainland to receive delivery of Robe’s new multipurpose moving light, the Pointe. Southampton-based GLS took 24 and Bristol-based Fineline took 12 units in this initial delivery, coordinated by Ian W Brown of Robe UK.

Robe Makes a Pointe on ‘Ultimative Chart Show’

COLOGNE, Germany – European lighting and visuals designer Manfred Ollie Olma of mo2 design tried out 12 of Robe’s new Pointe moving lights for a recent episode of “Die Ultimative Chart Show.” The program is broadcast weekly on RTL and recorded at Nobeo 8 Studio in Hürth, near Cologne.

Robe Scores Pointes at 2013 CMT Awards

NASHVILLE – The 2013 CMT Music Awards, staged at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, featured a lighting design by Tom Kenny. In the rig were 24 of Robe’s newest moving light fixtures, the Pointe, along with a variety of Robe’s other Robin series moving heads. VER supplied the lighting equipment, with all of the Robe equipment located on the deck of the multilayered stage set.

LONDON – UK folk rock phenomena, Mumford & Sons have just finished a string of Canadian and US shows. Robe LEDWash moving lights were again a prominent feature on the lighting rig designed by LD Ed Warren of Next Level Lights. His design mantra this time around was: “Tungsten!”

Robe Lights Stages and Spaces at Glastonbury Festival

SOMERSET, UK – Around 400 Robe fixtures were on site in various areas at the 2013 Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts in Pilton, Somerset UK. “Glasto” had a capacity of 175,000 with an eclectic line up of live music and entertainment over three days. Robe UK’s Ian W Brown took his tent and Wellies and got into the festival spirit, where iffy weather turned to sunshine, soaring temperatures and sizzling expectations.

BERLIN – More than 200 Robe moving lights helped rock the house and showcase the Berlin’s emerging DJs and Techno, House, Electro and Minimal talent who made serious summer noise in four aircraft hangars at the Templehof Airport site for A&P’s 2013 ‘Berlin Summer Rave.’ A capacity audience of 20,000 enjoyed Martin Kuhn’s production lighting design. The Robe fixtures were central to the night of action in the Ostfunk, Planet Bass and House Floor arenas.

Robe Helps with Flood Relief Efforts in Central Europe

VALASSKE MEZIRICI, Czech Republic – Robe lighting’s CEO Josef Valchar and staff at the company’s headquarters here have mobilized to help contribute to humanitarian aid relief in the wake of the worst floods to hit the country in a decade. The floods, which affected vast swaths of the Czech Republic and other central European countries including Germany and Austria, claimed several lives and caused chaos as tens of thousands were evacuated from their homes.

Robe is ‘Out There’ with Paul McCartney in Brazil

BRAZIL – Paul McCartney’s ‘Out There’ world tour kicked off with three shows in Brazil with lighting looks from LD Roy Bennett. Bennett supervised the shows, while Lighting Director Wally Lees operated. Lighting equipment was supplied by leading Brazilian rental company LPL Professional Lighting and included Robe ColorSpot and ColorWash luminaires, together with other moving lights and generics.
