WUPPERTAL, Germany — Riedel Communications provided the global communications backbone for the Wings for Life World Run, sponsored by Red Bull and supporting research to cure spinal cord injuries. Participants in 34 countries around the world took part in the event.

SYDNEY — The International Fleet Review, which commemorated the arrival of the original Royal Australian Navy fleet in Sydney Harbour a century ago, involved close to 40 warships, 16 tall ships, more than 60 aircraft, 10 military bands, and 8,000 sailors from 17 nations around the world. An AV/comms network from Riedel helped keep the lines of digital communication running smoothly.

GLEN HELEN, CA — Red Bull’s X-Fighters freestyle motocross stunt competitions date back to 2001, when the first such event was staged by the energy drink maker at a bullfighting ring in Valencia, Spain. This year, the competitions are taking place around the world, in Mexico City (March 8), Dubai (April 12), the California desert here (May 11), Osaka, Japan (June 1), Madrid (July 19) and Pretoria, South Africa (Aug. 31.) Red Bull partner Riedel Communications is providing radio and intercom systems.

NEW YORK — Wuppertal, Germany-based Riedel Communications won a Sports Emmy Award in the “Outstanding New Approaches Sports Event Coverage” category for the company’s involvement with the Red Bull Stratos project. Riedel received the honor from the National Academy of Television Arts and Science at the 34th Annual Sports Emmy Awards, held May 7 in New York City.

LAS VEGAS —Riedel Communications’ Artist Level Meter app for iPad was featured at NAB. By monitoring and controlling up to eight freely assignable audio inputs of an Artist digital matrix intercom system, the iPad app allows the intercom administrator to manage the four-wire input levels of an Artist system from anywhere.
