Believed to be the first production in Singapore to feature Claypaky’s Tambora Batten, the revival of The LKY Musical recently concluded its run at the Sands Theatre at the Marina Bay Sands. Early Career: The 1/52 Project Grantees

The 1/52 Project, the financial grant program founded by Tony Award-winning set designer Beowulf Boritt, has selected seven early-career designers as its first group of grant recipients. Each of the inaugural recipients will receive grants up to $15,000. The 1/52 Project launched in January 2022 with the goal of providing financial support to rising designers from historically excluded groups with the aim of diversifying and strengthening the Broadway design community.

37th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards Recipients Announced

The 2022 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed out on Sunday, May 1, 2022, to recipients in 16 categories, with two honorary awards also bestowed. Returning to a live, in-person ceremony for the first time in three years, the Awards were distributed in a ceremony at NYU Skirball. Katz and McLane Talk Design for MJ The Musical with Support from PRG

The design for MJ: The Musical, which opened on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre on Feb. 3, was brought to life by scenic designer Derek McLane and lighting designer Natasha Katz with projection design by Peter Nigrini. Both Katz and McLane worked with PRG who provided the scenic, lighting, and automation for the highly anticipated production. Here Katz and McLane discuss their design solutions for the musical, which centers around the making of Michael Jackson’s 1992 Dangerous World Tour.

The Burry Fredrik Foundation has announced David Geffen School of Drama Projection Designer Camilla Tassi as the recipient of the 2022 Burry Fredrik Design Fellowship and its $25,000 award.
