LED Video Solutions for Coheed and Cambria Tour

American progressive rock band Coheed and Cambria traveled across the U.S. over the summer on A Window of The Waking Mind Tour. The 25-stop trek, which took in a mixture of outdoor amphitheaters and indoor arenas, featured an impressive production that was anchored by a giant inflatable set piece flanked by a pair of large video walls constructed from ADJ’s Vision Series VS3 modular LED panels. GLP Rides with Die Ärzte on ‘Buffalo Bill in Rome’ Tour

The German band Die Ärzte followed up the release of their 2020 album, “Hell” (“Bright” in German) with “Dunkel” (“Dark”) in 2021. This year, after pandemic restrictions eased, the band supported both albums with their 2022 tour. Production designer Bertil Mark’s honeycomb-patterned design incorporates impression X5 and X4 Bar 20 fixtures along with JDC Line 500 and JDC1 units from GLP.

2022 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awardees Announced

TDF, the not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts, is proud to announce that celebrated costume designer Fred Voelpel and legendary scenic designer Eugene Lee are among the 2022 TDF/Irene Sharaff Award recipients. Although Voelpel passed away in June, he will be honored posthumously with the TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design while Lee will receive The Robert L. B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design. Additionally, costume designer Dede Ayite will receive the TDF/Kitty Leech Young Master Award and visual artist Michael Curry will receive the TDF/Irene Sharaff Artisan Award.

The awards ceremony will be presented through the TDF Costume Collection on Friday, October 7 at 6:30 p.m. at The Edison Ballroom. Grupo Firme Electrifies Stadium Crowds with Assist from 3G-Supplied Elation Fixtures

Mexican band Grupo Firme brought the party to U.S. stadiums this summer with their “Enfiestados y Amanecidos” tour, with 3G Productions supplying lighting, video, audio and rigging equipment. Production Designer Andy Ruiz and Lighting Designer/Tour Operator Arturo Sanchez added a festive touch with Elation Smarty Hybrid and Rayzor 760 moving lights along with Cuepix WW2 blinders.

Roland Greil Uses 450 Elation Lights on Epic Bavaria Sounds 2022 Concerts in Munich

The largest open-air concerts ever held in Munich, and the largest in Germany this year, took place at the Munich Exhibition Center in August with more than 300,000 fans total attending shows by Andreas Gabalier, Helene Fischer and Robbie Williams. Roland Greil lit the epic shows and massive 150-meter wide stage using a rig that included over 450 Elation Professional luminaires.

Chris Lisle and Elation Keep the Beat on Lollapalooza Perry’s Stage

It’s been a busy year for lighting and production designer Chris Lisle and his company CLLD. The production design firm recently wrapped up work on Lollapalooza, their sixth major event back to back, where they relied on an Elation-centered rig including Proteus series IP65 luminaires to light Perry’s Stage.
