Dream Theater Brings PixelFLEX Along for the Ride

NASHVILLE — Dream Theater, which kicked off the North American leg of their “Along for the Ride” tour with a March 20 show in Toronto, is using 20mm FLEXCurtain LED displays from PixelFLEX to add to the show’s visual impact. (The band’s April 5 show at The Chicago Theatre is pictured here.) PixelFLEX notes that Dream Theater’s trek is also the company’s first big splash on the international touring scene. NASHVILLE — Casting Crowns production manager Carter Hassebroek and LD Chris Lighthall worked with Peter Streiff at a PixelFlex rental partner Elite Multimedia Productions (EMP) on a 24 by 32 foot (WxH) 20mm LED curtain display for the Christian band’s Thrive tour.  The six-by-four panel display (WxH) uses custom rigging hardware to extend the panels’ upward reach.

NASHVILLE — Florida Georgia Line is touring with PixelFLEX’s LED screen technology during their Here’s to the Good Times tour, the country duo’s first headline tour, named after their first studio album release. The tour includes 35 stops over a 10-week span, with just one truck for all of the band’s equipment, making packing space a bit tight.

NASHVILLE — The Nashville Sounds enhanced the fan experience during a recent night game by using lightweight and flexible LED video curtain panels manufactured by PixelFLEX. With more than 3,000 fans in attendance for Music Industry Night, a popular promotional event scheduled several times a season that features a pre-game musical performance, the Sounds kept fans in the action throughout the game by delivering video and player information across the PixelFLEX panels in right-centerfield.

NASHVILLE — Premier Christian Cruises tapped PixelFLEX to provide its LED curtain video screens as a backdrop for the ship’s musical performances.  The cruiseship staff hung a PixelFLEX panel in the main atrium to feature announcements and a brief video to keep passengers up to date on activities. Videos and images can be sent to PixelFLEX’s screens using any computer with a DVI-D connection.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Student Life, an inter-denominational ministry offering Gospel-centered summer camps and youth conferences, has taken PixelFLEX’s LED curtain video wall on the road during its recent conference. On the tour, Student Life uses 16 PixelFLEX panels across the stage as an accent to the production’s main 17 ft projection screen.
