The 2025 NAMM Show Highlights Knockout Lineup With 5 Days of Events and Education for Retailers, Brands and Global Attendees 

NAMM (The National Association of Music Merchants) has announced its initial listing of events for The 2025 NAMM Show, taking place at the Anaheim Convention Center January 21–25, with events and education beginning on Tuesday, January 21. Exhibits and the show floor open January 23, creating an action-packed week with full energy through late Saturday evening, January 25, 2025. 

Regional Winners Announced for Lighting Hometown Heroes

PLSN is pleased to announce the Regional Winners of the Lighting Hometown Heroes. All six regional winners are now the finalists for the Parnelli Hometown Hero – Lighting Company of the Year Award. The six top regional lighting companies in North America—one for each of five U.S. regions, and a sixth for all of Canada were voted on by the industry as they narrowed the field from 36 to the six regional winners.

The six regional winners will appear on the Parnelli Awards ballot as finalist when the ballot goes live Oct. 28, 2024 for the 23rd Parnelli Awards voting. Industry Leaders Step Up for 22nd Annual Parnelli Awards

NAMM Young Professionals and Women of NAMM Announce New Leadership

NAMM Young Professionals (NAMM YP) and Women of NAMM (WON) recently elected new leaders to continue serving NAMM members. NAMM YP has elected two new members to its board of directors: Matthew Kennedy, director of strategic initiatives at C.F. Martin & Co., and Ryan Kotrlik, retail and combo manager at Beacock Music and Education Center. WON named new council members, with Julie Wagnitz, director of school music services for Heid Music, as chair; Morgan Walker, director of communications at Korg USA, as first vice chair; and Leanne Chu, director of supplier operations at Gator Co., as second vice chair.

NAMM Announces New Leadership for the Executive Committee

The NAMM board of directors has elected a new executive committee to continue the organization’s legacy of service to NAMM members and the industry at large. In a vote at the recent board meeting, Tom Sumner, president of Yamaha Corp. of America (and previously NAMM’s vice chair), was named chair of the NAMM board of directors. The board also elected Chris White, president of White House of Music, as vice chair, where he will serve in an ex officio role as chair of The NAMM Foundation board; Barbara Wight, chief financial officer of Taylor Guitars, as treasurer; and Whitney Brown Grisaffi, president of Ted Brown Music, as secretary of the executive committee.Read More »NAMM Announces New Leadership for the Executive Committee

21st Parnelli Awards Offer Surprises, Emotions, and Winners

Always full of surprises and the unexpected, the 21st Annual Parnelli Awards held on Friday April 14 started out with a big one: Outgoing NAMM CEO/President Joe Lamond was initiated in the Parnelli Hall of Fame.
