A Tour of the Stage for Metallica’s ‘M72 World Tour’

Metallica’s M72 World Tour covers 12 countries, 49 total shows, and has a custom stage that Metallica shows off in this behind the scenes video. James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo sit down with Zane Lowe in the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam. You see the stage setup in the beginning and then in the final segment (49:12) Lars Ulrich shows Zane an up-close view of the “Snake Pit” stage setup, looking at the incredible infrastructure of the stage and the details that create this incredible environment for the band and the audience.

Ghost – A Design Like None Other

The Swedish rock band Ghost recently wrapped up the third, North American leg of its Imperatour tour for which Brazil-based Lighting Designer, Erich Bertti was once again back designing along with the band’s lead singer Tobias Forge. Also returning to support the Ghost tour and Bertti was Senior Account Manager, Steven “Creech” Anderson and Madison, TN-based Premier Global Production, providing lighting, rigging, truss and crew. Bertti and Anderson fill PLSN in on the design and their working relationship for Ghost’s tour.

Metallica 40 Shows Center on Robe BMFL Moving Lights

Metallica marked 40 years with mid-December concerts for fans at San Francisco’s Chase Center arena. LD Rob Koenig and Production Designer Dan Braun relied on Robe BMFL WashBeams and RoboSpot systems to light the in-the-round shows, which also featured 45 large multi-layered and overlapping video surfaces.

ROSKILDE, Denmark  — The Roskilde Music Festival, a summer tradition since the 1970s, this year featured Metallica on the festival’s Orange stage and also included performances by top acts ranging from Rihanna to Slipknot. LD Kasper Lange lit the Orange Stage with a variety of fixtures from Harman’s Martin business unit.
