Harman’s Martin Certified as Authorized Economic Operator

AARHUS, Denmark — Harman’s Martin is now certified as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO), a counter-terrorism and global trade certification, and part of the World Customs Organization’s framework of standards to Secure and Facilitate global trade (SAFE). AEO Certification benefits include easier access to customs simplifications and facilitation with regard to customs controls relating to security.

The lighting rig needed to look good for both the live audience and on camera. Harvest lighting designer/programmer Christopher Eguizabal used various Martin Professional products for the weekend from Felix Lighting.

Norway’s Karpe Diem Seizes the Night with Martin

OSLO – Norwegian hip hop/ rap band Karpe Diem played its largest show to date recently at Oslo’s Spektrum Arena. Karpe Diem’s LD Sebastian Ekeberg chose a Martin rig which included some of Martin’s newest products. The show was broadcast on Norwegian TV and will appear on a future DVD release by the band.

AARHUS, Denmark – Martin Professional is offering an opportunity for budding lighting designers and technicians with its Young Lighting Designer Contest for Prolight + Sound (April 10-13). Contest prizes include a new Martin M2PC lighting controller, a VIP club invite at Frankfurt’s Gibson Club and the chance to program a Martin M6 lighting console with an assist from an experienced Martin trainer.

MAC Vipers Make Russian Debut for Leningrad Concert

ST. PETERSBURG – Martin Professional’s new 1000-watt MAC Viper Profile moving head made its Russian debut Oct. 6 with the rock band Leningrad. LD Elena Morozova created some special looks for the first 10 MAC Viper fixtures delivered to Russia. The show at the sports complex Yubileyny was arranged by the company Euroshow.

Obama Victory Celebration Lit by Martin MAC Vipers

CHICAGO – Supporters gathered at McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago on Tuesday evening, Nov. 6, to join Barack Obama and Joe Biden in celebrating their victory on election night. LD Bob Peterson used Martin Professional’s new MAC Viper Profile for top and backlight onto the main podium walkways used at the event.

Australia’s NightFest Blooms with Martin

CANBERRA, Australia – Floriade, Australia’s biggest celebration of spring, is held every year for 30 days during September and October. It showcases one million flowers in bloom, set in Canberra’s Commonwealth Park and attracting more than 400,000 visitors. For this year’s NightFest, Mandylights designed and created the lighting ambience, making extensive use of the Martin MAC 301 Wash LED moving head. PRG supplied the fixtures.

Qatar National Convention Center Uses Martin Lighting

DOHA, Qatar – The Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC) is one of the largest convention centers in the Middle East. London’s Light + Design Associates specified Martin Professional fixtures to help set the mood between the various facilities in the space. One highlighted area enhanced by Martin lighting is the VIP foyer, which features a visual centerpiece in the form of a 250-meter long, curved steel structure whose shape is inspired by the Qatari Sidra tree.

China's version of

Martin MAC III Performance for China’s ‘Sing Off’

SHENZHEN, China – The Chinese version of the American television singing competition, NBC’s “The Sing Off,” airs on Shenzhen Satellite Television and uses Martin Professional MAC III series luminaires to accompany the a cappella groups. The fixtures were also the main lighting instruments used on the US version of the show, and to keep the same look, organizers invited the original stage and lighting designers to China for guidance.
