Lisa Burger, National Theatre Executive Director and Joint Chief Executive to Step Down in Summer 2022

The National Theatre has announced today that Lisa Burger, Executive Director and Joint Chief Executive, will step down in Summer 2022. Burger’s career at the National Theatre has spanned 20 years. She joined the NT as Finance Director in 2001, before becoming Chief Operating Officer in 2010. LONDON —Coldplay’s shows at Royal Albert Hall here July 1-2 wrapped a brief, six-date tour in support of Ghost Stories, their May 2014 album release. Video director Ben Miles lit up the hall’s 86 “mushrooms” — ceiling mounted acoustic diffusion disks — with video-mapped projections, with an assist from four Ai Media S8 Infinity servers from Avolites Media.

Spider-Man Movie Premiere Gets XL Video Support

LONDON — Leicester Square was chosen as the venue for the world premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 – the latest installment of the Marvel Comics franchise from Columbia Pictures. XL Video provided MC-7 LED panels for the star-studded event.

American R&B trio, TGT, played London’s iconic Eventim Apollo (formerly the Hammersmith Apollo) on March 27 as part of their “Shirts Off” tour. The rig included Elation’s Platinum Series and other Elation fixtures supplied by English rental company MusicMann.

LONDON — American R&B trio, TGT, played London’s iconic Eventim Apollo (formerly the Hammersmith Apollo) on March 27 as part of their “Shirts Off” tour. The rig included Elation’s Platinum Series and other Elation fixtures supplied by English rental company MusicMann. Handling production on the London show was Steve “Shaggy” Wright, lighting, video, and production pro at MusicMann.

LONDON — Royal Albert Hall, in conjunction with Raymond Gubbay, staged Puccini’s classic opera, La Bohème, with an assist from crew, lighting equipment, lighting console and rigging from Production Resource Group (PRG). Andrew Bridge once again served as LD for the Gubbay/RAH production, continuing a 20-year production alliance.

LONDON – For Wayne McGregor’s Tetractys: The Art of Fugue, a ballet for 12 dancers set to Bach that was performed at London’s Royal Opera House in February, set and costume designer Tauba Auerbach worked with programmer Florian Baeumler and the venue’s newly-acquired Hippotizer Rackoon for an assist with the visual design, which paired live performers with geometric graphics.

London’s New Year’s Eve Fireworks Gets Assist from Projection Studio

LONDON — Ross Ashton and the Projection Studio (TPS) worked as consultants to Jack Morton Worldwide, producers of the Mayor of London’s New Year’s Eve fireworks display for the 10th consecutive year. TPS provided the large format video projections system, augmenting the visual component of a multi-sensory celebration that included color-changing LED wristbands, floating bubbles and clouds packing fruit-scented mist and edible banana-flavored confetti particles that dissolve in rain to limit cleanup requirements.
