2022 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awardees Announced

TDF, the not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts, is proud to announce that celebrated costume designer Fred Voelpel and legendary scenic designer Eugene Lee are among the 2022 TDF/Irene Sharaff Award recipients. Although Voelpel passed away in June, he will be honored posthumously with the TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design while Lee will receive The Robert L. B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design. Additionally, costume designer Dede Ayite will receive the TDF/Kitty Leech Young Master Award and visual artist Michael Curry will receive the TDF/Irene Sharaff Artisan Award.

The awards ceremony will be presented through the TDF Costume Collection on Friday, October 7 at 6:30 p.m. at The Edison Ballroom. 20th Annual Parnelli Awards Dinner Reservations Now Open

Reservations are now open for the 20th annual Parnelli Awards, set to take place once again at the Hilton Anaheim Hotel in Anaheim, CA during NAMM’s annual convention. The June 3 event, which begins with the Cocktail Party at 6 p.m. and the Dinner & Awards Ceremony following at 7 p.m., will return to the hotel’s Pacific Ballroom.

SMA to Bestow Del Hughes Awards for Lifetime Achievement during Virtual Event Oct. 25

On Monday October 25th, 2021, the Stage Managers’ Association (SMA) will virtually present its annual Del Hughes Awards for Lifetime Achievement in the Art of Stage Management, live from NYC and Las Vegas. The 2021 honorees are distinguished theatrical stage managers Ruth E. Kramer and Lynda A. Lavin, television stage manager Arthur Lewis, and in-memoriam legendary Broadway stage manager Charles Allen Blackwell. George Travis to Receive 2013 Parnelli Lifetime Achievement Honor

LAS VEGAS — The Parnelli Board of Advisors has announced that George Travis, longtime production/tour manager for Bruce Springsteen, will receive the live event industry’s highest honor, the Parnelli Lifetime Achievement Award, at the annual gala ceremony in Las Vegas this November. Travis has also worked with Rod Stewart, Kiss, Boston, Elton John, Madonna, Shania Twain and Ringo Starr, among others.
