On the first evening of Wacken Open Air, German medieval rockers In Extremo headlined on the Louder Stage. The band’s renowned Lighting Designer, Martin Heining, expanded his design especially for the Wacken show, by including 12 of the new high-performance Creos wash lights from by GLP, adding on to the already extensive festival design by LD Jerry Appelt.
The Vienna Philharmonic’s Summer Night Concert (Sommernachtskonzert) has been a highlight in the classical music calendar worldwide for many years. This year, in front of the magnificent backdrop of the Schönbrunn Palace, the famous orchestra played pieces of French romanticism and expressionism for the first time under the direction of Canadian conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin. The annual Summer Night Concert (Das Sommernachtskonzert) by the Vienna Philharmonic at the illustrious Schönbrunn Palace is the second biggest show every year in Austria, only outdone by the world-class orchestra’s renowned New Year’s Concert.
