Impression X5 the Key to RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Touring Rig

Lighting Designer Matt Smith (of Colourblind) again took full advantage of GLP’s fixture versatility when plotting the scenography for the American leg of RÜFÜS DU SOL’s tour. The Australian creative used a selection of GLP’s impression X5, JDC1, and impression X4 Bar 20, deploying them in mission-critical roles. Karol G $trip Love Tour

The Latin Grammy winning artist, Colombian singer and songwriter Karol G, has been wowing her fans with her “$trip Love Tour” in 2022. The Darkroom Creative Draws on GLP Classics for Walker Hayes’ Arena Tour

Nashville-based singer-songwriter Walker Hayes recently embarked on his first headline arena tour, with the help of The Darkroom Creative (Seth Jackson and Nathan Alves), who were responsible for the stage lighting. Helping them build their set was a bunch of classic but timeless ‘impression’ LED fixtures from GLP – notably around 60 of the compact X4 S LED washlights and X4 Bar 20 battens, agile workhorses which helped make the production budget stretch. Nine Inch Nails Tour 2022

Nine Inch Nails played a limited number of make-up headlining dates on their spring and fall 2022 tour. PLSN caught up with Toss Film & Design’s Paul “Arlo” Guthrie about his work as designer, director, and programmer for the NIN tour. We also checked in with Lighting Technician Matthew “Matt” Schiller for some fixture details in the design, with lighting supplied by tour vendor Upstaging.

Ghost – A Design Like None Other

The Swedish rock band Ghost recently wrapped up the third, North American leg of its Imperatour tour for which Brazil-based Lighting Designer, Erich Bertti was once again back designing along with the band’s lead singer Tobias Forge. Also returning to support the Ghost tour and Bertti was Senior Account Manager, Steven “Creech” Anderson and Madison, TN-based Premier Global Production, providing lighting, rigging, truss and crew. Bertti and Anderson fill PLSN in on the design and their working relationship for Ghost’s tour.
