LONDON — HSL supplied lighting and LED screen to the U.K. leg of the You Me At Six Cavalier Youth tour, featuring a lighting design by Louis Oliver, who has worked with the indie rockers for the last five years.
LONDON —For the X-Factor Live UK arena tour, a seven-week U.K. jaunt featuring the top eight finalists from the 2013 series performing live, Blackburn-based HSL provided the lighting gear, truss elements and rigging. LD Peter Barnes designed the lighting, and lighting director/on-the-road operator was Jonathan Rouse. The live show was produced by Syco Music with technical production coordinated by Production North.
LONDON — Lighting and stage designer Andy Hurst included Clay Paky’s Sharpy fixtures for electronic dance music duo Chase and Status’s arena tour last fall. Blackburn, U.K.-based HSL provided the fixtures which complemented the curved truss set design and video visuals.
BLACKBURN, UK – HSL supplied lights, LED screen and crew to the latest Moody Blues UK and European tour, working with the band’s longtime LD Mick Thornton. For this tour, Thornton wanted a lighting contractor who could also supply the LED elements as well as a company with “a friendly, people-orientated approach who were big enough to offer the service levels we required and without a large and complex management hierarchy,” he explains.
BLACKBURN, UK – HSL supplied LD Neil Carson with full lighting production for Brit Award winning singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé’s most recent UK tour, together with a ‘specials’ package for the European section. Sande most recently performed for both opening and closing ceremonies at the Summer Olympics in London.
LONDON —HSL supported LD Andy Iliffe’s design for the first production tour for U.K. artist Rita Ora. The visuals gear included a Pixled FX-11 LED screen, Robe ColorSpot 2500E ATs, GLP Impression 120 RZ Zoom LEDs, Clay Paky Sharpys, i-Pix BB4 LED wash lights, JTE PixelLine LED battens and strobes, all controlled via a Catalyst media server and grandMA2 lite console.
STRATFORD, UK – HSL supplied lighting equipment, LED screens, trussing and rigging for the 2012 Global Gathering event, staged at Long Marston Airfield near Stratford. The event attracted up to 50,000 dance music fans over two days. Even the sun participated in the fun over the two days – one of the few UK festivals this summer not to be plagued by erratic weather.
BLACKBURN, UK – HSL is quadrupling its current space with a new 240,000 sq. ft. warehouse and office premises close to their current HQ in Blackburn, Lancashire. They plan to be fully operational by summer. The new facility allows further room to grow with future expansion.
