GLP Celebrates 20 Year Milestone at PL+S 2014

FRANKFURT – German Light Products celebrated 20 years at the recent Prolight+Sound Show here earlier this month. Udo Künzler, who founded the company in 1994, hosted a get-together attended by the company’s distributors and members of the press. The event, also attended by Kasper Gissel and Mark Ravenhill, featured some of the company’s products hits (and misses) along with observations by industry-leading LDs who have relied upon the gear.

JR Lighting Design Provides CLC with GLP Impression X4S LED System

TINLEY PARK, IL — After the Christian Life Center (CLC) here opted to supplement its existing technical infrastructure and add automated lighting technology to its services, the church brought in lighting consultant Jason Reberski from JR Lighting Design Inc. Reberski included 12 GLP impression X4S fixtures as part of the upgraded rig for the church, which has a congregation of about 1,000 people.

LOS ANGELES – Designing shows for artists ranging from Sheryl Crow to Fleetwood Mac over a long period, experienced LD Paul ‘Arlo’ Guthrie has been increasingly finding GLP’s impression X4s an essential component in his touring inventory. Earlier this summer, PRG supplied production for the evergreen Fleetwood Mac’s Live 2013 48-city U.S. arena tour — and this time Guthrie requisitioned 36 of the new generation LED moving heads.

LOS ANGELES – GLP German Light Products have launched a new iPad app for their impression X4 fixture. One of the versatile features of the impression X4 is that users can create their own pixel designs on the fly and store them directly into their control console. The new iPad app makes the process fast and easy by bringing up a mimic of the fixture’s front lens layout.

GLP X4s Rock Denver with Slightly Stoopid

DENVER – Using 12 of GLP’s impression X4 LED fixtures, Washington DC-based Pulse Lighting recently provided lighting for Slightly Stoopid’s special one-off ‘Hot Box’ show at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre in Denver, Colorado. The show, which also featured Cypress Hill, was scheduled for broadcast live on AXS TV the same evening.
