Amadeus Austrian Music Awards Take Place in Historic Setting with the Latest Technology from GLP

The Amadeus Austrian Music Awards were presented for the 23rd time recently. The ceremony took place in the historic Volkstheater in Vienna, which, with its lavish interior, offered a wonderful setting for both the live and TV audience. However, it was precisely this historical backdrop that presented Lighting Designer Manfred Nikitser and his team with a number of technical lighting challenges. FUSION X-PAR 12 Z, impression S350, impression X5, and impression FR10 Bars from GLP helped them to do justice to the special features of the location and the staging itself.Read More »Amadeus Austrian Music Awards Take Place in Historic Setting with the Latest Technology from GLP

Local tech suppliers, Limitless Lights & Sound, provided a lean but effective assortment of GLP X4 Bar battens and FR1 luminaires.

This year’s South by Southwest Music Festival (SXSW) in Austin, TX provided a unique classical music showcase into its multi-cultural annual event. The brainchild of Thea Paraskevaides from Brighton-based ‘Artists&’, the underlying concept was to close the gap between classical musicians and audience via integration and collaboration—aimed at creating a fluid and dynamic experience for the audience. “I want to move classical music more into the mainstream,” she declared. Crowds congregate annually at the base of the ‘Smart Alec’ ski trail in Ontario to watch the province’s finest freestyle skiers and snowboarders perform choreographed flips and tricks off the 50’ Big Air Jump, accompanied by music, lights, fireworks, and all manner of show sizzle. The innovative fusion concept posed a challenge for lighting and video planner Axel Fahrenhorst, from Hamburg-based creative consultancy lineareal GmbH.
