Maggie Rogers, the Grammy nominated singer/songwriter, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist, is touring with Lighting Designers Dan Hadley & Tess Falcone and Lighting Director Ali “Blue” Allison. Along the way, they talked to PLSN about working with the artist for “The Feral Joy Tour” and how the design supports the artist.
Broadway’s longest running show in history, The Phantom of the Opera, takes its final bows and will go dark, closing in mid-April. PLSN speaks with some of the creative and production team who have been with the show since the beginning 35 years ago. As the European festival scene kicked back into action following the upheaval and restrictions of the pandemic, Ayrton teamed up with some established Swiss rental companies to support festivals across the country and showcase some of Ayrton’s latest fixtures. The Swedish rock band Ghost recently wrapped up the third, North American leg of its Imperatour tour for which Brazil-based Lighting Designer, Erich Bertti was once again back designing along with the band’s lead singer Tobias Forge. Also returning to support the Ghost tour and Bertti was Senior Account Manager, Steven “Creech” Anderson and Madison, TN-based Premier Global Production, providing lighting, rigging, truss and crew. Bertti and Anderson fill PLSN in on the design and their working relationship for Ghost’s tour.
Twenty One Pilots’ “Icy” tour hit the road this summer, offering LD Tyler “Shap” Shapard the chance to produce an elegant and imaginative lighting design. To atmospherically engineer the mood and vibes for each song, he relied on a Solotech-supplied rig that included 80 Robe MegaPointes.
When Luke Combs finally hit the road again for his What You See is What You Get tour in 2021, he was happy to be back in the spotlight after the collapse of his 2020 tour due to the pandemic.
