For the U.S leg of Phoebe Bridgers’ 2022 world tour, Gateway Studios & Production of St Louis provided LD Spike Kienholz Inglis of Spike Design with a Robe moving light rig. The setup included 24 MegaPointes, 24 Spiiders, 16 Tetra1s and six FORTES.

For Burna Boy’s supercharged performance at the Curaçao Festival Center in late October, Massive Productions’ Ramon Ramiz stepped in as LD for the artist, lighting the Grammy-winning singer and his fans with the power of 90 Chauvet Professional fixtures from Massive Productions and its partner, Aruba Elite Productions.
Twenty One Pilots’ “Icy” tour hit the road this summer, offering LD Tyler “Shap” Shapard the chance to produce an elegant and imaginative lighting design. To atmospherically engineer the mood and vibes for each song, he relied on a Solotech-supplied rig that included 80 Robe MegaPointes.
A festival celebrating the earliest form of aviation was complemented by the very latest in aviation technology, when drone show specialist Verge Aero flew a series of spectacular light shows for the 50th anniversary Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta (AIBF) in New Mexico. Legendary lighting designers Jules Fisher and Jennifer Tipton were each honored with the Ming Cho Lee Award for Lifetime Achievement in Design, bestowed by the Henry Hewes Design Awards during the 58th annual awards ceremony on Oct. 24. “In honoring Jules Fisher and Jennifer Tipton,” said Jeffrey Eric Jenkins, chair of the awards committee, “we celebrate two pioneers who have given us so many important dramatic memories—and have lit the way for those who follow.”
Astera Titan Tubes provided a great solution for the lighting of a rolling ‘small stage’ scenic truck which was central to the action for the 2022 Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival’s acclaimed production of Alessandro nell’Indie (Alexander in India) by Leonardo Vinci, directed by Max Emmanuel Cancic and lit by David Debrinay from Paris and Lyon, France, based design studio, LJOMA.
