Register for the Midwest Rigging Intensive, August 25-27 in Chicago

ESTA will host the very first Midwest Rigging Intensive on August 25-27 in Chicago. Session Highlights of the Upcoming 2022 New World Rigging Symposium

Registration is now open for the 2022 New World Rigging Symposium, which will take place online April 5-7, 2022. The symposium will carry nine ETCP education renewal credits for re-certification. Other highlights include safety info from top structural engineers and insights from touring riggers and automation experts who can share their perspectives on shows staged in the U.S. and abroad.

IATSE Training Trust Reimburses Cost of ETCP Certification

NEW YORK – The IATSE Entertainment and Exhibition Industries Training Trust Fund has initiated a program to offer reimbursement to those who take and pass any of the three ETCP Examinations – Rigger/Arena, Rigger/Theatre and Entertainment Electrician. Many IATSE Locals already reimburse their members for the full amount of their certification costs, but if a candidate or certified technician’s Local does not, the IATSE International resource is available.

ETCP Exams Offered at USITT 2013

NEW YORK – The ETCP (Entertainment Technician Certification Program) Examinations will be given at USITT 2013 in Milwaukee. All three ETCP examinations will be given in one session the morning of March 22, 2013. Candidates who wish to take more than one exam should contact ETCP. Members and employees of members of USITT receive a $100 discount on examination fees. Interested applicants must submit their application, along with supporting materials and fee, to the ETCP office no later than March 1, 2013.

ETCP Exams Offered at LDI 2012

NEW YORK – ETCP exams (Entertainment Technician Certification Program) will be given at LDI 2012 in Las Vegas. All three ETCP examinations will be given in one session the morning of Oct. 20. Interested applicants must submit their application, along with supporting materials and fee, to the ETCP office no later than Sept. 15.

IATSE Local One Certifies 36 ETCP Theatre Riggers

NEW YORK – The Entertainment Technician Certification Program (ETCP) has awarded 36 IATSE Local One members with its Rigger – Theatre Certification. In related news, to keep the ETCP examinations current, the ETCP volunteers appointed as “subject matter experts” (SME’s) have written new questions for the Theatre Rigging examination. ETCP is set to launch these questions Sept. 1, 2012.  The test administration fee for groups of 10 or more will be waived for the month of September.
