The 3rd International Drone Show Competition, initiated by SPH Engineering’s Drone Show Software (DSS) team, announced its results. Participants from 31 countries competed for the right to get to the final and become the winner in one of five categories. Applications from drone show operators, event companies, firework enthusiasts, 3D animators, and other professionals involved in the drone show industry were evaluated by an international jury, composed of representatives of the media industry, drone enterprises, creative and design agencies, experienced high-tech entrepreneurs, etc. PLSN Editor, Michael S. Live entertainment lighting and trucking company Upstaging marked its 50th anniversary in 2022. During the past half century co-founders, brothers Robert and Don Carone, and Robin Shaw, joined in 1979 by John Huddleston, have turned Upstaging from a garage-based pioneer into a stalwart of the industry. The LDI Show returned to Las Vegas after a busy year of live event productions across North America. The aisles were busy with production pros seeking to gear up for another busy year ahead, with exhibitors unveiling as many new products as steadily improving supply chain conditions would permit.
Twenty One Pilots’ “Icy” tour hit the road this summer, offering LD Tyler “Shap” Shapard the chance to produce an elegant and imaginative lighting design. To atmospherically engineer the mood and vibes for each song, he relied on a Solotech-supplied rig that included 80 Robe MegaPointes.
