Elation Satura Spot LED Pro Moving Head

Elation Professional announced that its 300W Satura Spot LED Pro RGBW moving head is now shipping. Promising brightness comparable to a traditional 575W discharge fixture, the Satura Spot LED Pro consumes half the energy. Elation also notes that the LED engine lasts on average 80 times longer than a 575W discharge source.

A few years ago, Elation Lighting unveiled their version of the low wattage, high lumen output pencil beam moving light. They were the first company to use the Philips Platinum 5R lamp in a moving head. The Platinum 5R was a successful product in the overall lighting industry, yet it left room for improvement. Elation felt the need to grab the ball and run in another direction by developing an “Extreme” version of this popular fixture. And in the process, they appear to have scored a touchdown with this beauty.

LISLE, IL — For “Illumination,” a dynamic and interactive holiday light experience at The Morton Arboretum here, Lightswitch principal, project director and LD John Featherstone used more than 300 Elation Level Q7 IP PARs provided by Chicago-based Intelligent Lighting Creations (ILC). A nonprofit outdoor museum where over 4,100 different species of trees and other plants are highlighted in special landscaped areas, the collection is brilliantly illuminated through Jan. 4, 2014.

ADJ Reaches Settlement with Neo-Neon and American Lighting

LOS ANGELES — ADJ announced that its American DJ Supply and Elation Professional companies have reached an out of court settlement with American Lighting, Inc. and its Hong Kong-based parent company, Neo-Neon, involving a trademark infringement lawsuit. Under terms of the agreement, American Lighting and Neo-Neon have agreed to stop selling special effects lighting products and distributing marketing material that use the names “American,” “Revo” and “E-Pro” in the U.S. market.

Elation Professional says the smooth, even output of its 170W Cool White Platinum Spot LED II Pro, which features built-in EWDMX for wireless control, is comparable to a 250W discharge fixture. All dimming and strobing is done electronically; there’s no need for a dimmer or shutter motor. Features include a 17 to 36 degree zoom, 16-bit resolution on all motor functions, smooth dimming, two gobo wheels with a total of 14 gobos including seven interchangeable, rotating, and indexing glass gobos, and a static dichroic color wheel with seven colors plus white.

Elation’s compact, DMX-controlled Design Wash LED Zoom (RGBW) and Design Wash LED Zoom CW (Cool White 7500°K) fixtures are just 3.1 by 8.7 by 17.5 inches in size (L x W x H) but produce 400 foot candles at 20’ / 3,900 total lumens and 8,300 total lumens, respectively. The 108 Osram Ostar LEDs promise 50,000 hours of use, and features include 7°-30° zoom/13°-40° field angles, variable strobe, pulse and rainbow effects, 0-100% dimming and pan (540° or 630°) and tilt (265°) movement with 16-bit resolution.

Elation Enhances Cirque du Soleil Club, ‘Light’

LAS VEGAS –  Developer/partners Cirque du Soleil and The Light Group recently opened a new nightclub, Light, at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas. Part Cirque show and part dance club, it features 38,000 sq. ft. of space and a 35-high high ceiling with acrobats spinning overhead and EDM DJs spinning up front. LDs John Lyons and Richard Worboys of John Lyons Systems (Hollywood, CA) had the extra challenge of illuminating an adjacent 50,000 sq. ft. outdoor Mediterranean-style pool/beach club area called Daylight. They chose more than 450 Elation Professional fixtures for both spaces.

Elation Helps Transform EDC 2013 into Fantasyland

LAS VEGAS – The most recent Electric Daisy Carnival, held in Las Vegas June 21-23, featured 200 EDM artists on seven stages, alongside theatrical performers, interactive art exhibits and amusement rides. EDC’s sprawling 1,000-acre Las Vegas Speedway site was transformed into a surrealistic fantasy world that made the three-day event a total immersive entertainment experience for the 345,000-plus fans. Five of the festival’s stages featured Elation lighting and video products.

Elation Platinum Beams Shine On Miami Heat NBA Champs

MIAMI – Along with LeBron James & Co., some other sharp shooters were on hand to ramp up the excitement at the Miami Heat’s NBA championship celebration – Platinum Beam 5Rs from Elation Professional.  There were 54 of Elation hard-edge moving beams shining overhead and onto the stage at American Airlines Arena, as the team received its championship rings in front of its fans.
