Niller Bjerregaard Creates Theatrical Looks for Jacob Dinesen Tour with ChamSys

On the surface, at least, the metal sound of King Diamond is quite different from the folk-inspired pop-rock music of GAFFA Award nominee Jacob Dinesen. But in terms of the type of stage production their performances inspire, the two gifted artists share much in common. Just as music is a “universal language,” so too is lighting design. Niller Bjerregaard is proving that night after night on the Danish singer-songwriter’s 40-city 2024 tour of Europe. Bjerregaard, of Happy Light Guy, who has achieved global acclaim for lighting metal arena tours, has found that his current work for Jacob Dinesen has led him to reignite many ideas from his early work for King Diamond.Read More »Niller Bjerregaard Creates Theatrical Looks for Jacob Dinesen Tour with ChamSys

Soundwise of Denmark Embraces Elation in a Traditional Market

For production and rental company Soundwise of Denmark, choosing to carry Elation lighting products in a market with more traditional preferences is a strategic move aimed at providing unique offerings. “Denmark has traditionally been quite conservative when it comes to entertainment lighting equipment,” shares Lars Thorsager, founder and sales director at Soundwise. He says however that the trend is beginning to turn, albeit slowly. “As the market here begins to realize that there are other innovative products out there that can set them apart, it’s getting a bit easier to specify other gear.”Read More »Soundwise of Denmark Embraces Elation in a Traditional Market

It was initially staged at the theatre in 2019, directed by Mads M Nielsen with the set designed by Benjamin la Cour and lit by Mikael Sylvest. The show was a huge success, and so after Covid had effectively shut the industry down for two years, the theatre was keen to get it on the road once things started to properly re-open again.Read More »Ingenious Solution for ‘A Column of Fire’ Production in Copenhagen
