Warehouse Project EDM Events in U.K. Lit by dbn

MANCHESTER, U.K. — dbn Lighting, based here, once again supplied lighting and LED screens to the Warehouse Project (WHP), a series of EDM events founded by Sacha Lord-Marchionne and Sam Kandel. WHP operates for two regular nights each week from September to New Year’s Eve on a timeline coinciding with university and college schedules. It attracts international EDM DJs and live acts and sells out months in advance. This was the second year the club has operating out of the Victoria Warehouse venue in Trafford Park. dbn’s Pete Robinson has been involved with WHP from the start. This year he created the production and lighting design for all three rooms in the space.

MANCHESTER, UK – dbn Lighting delivered a complete lighting, staging and rigging solution for an event staged at the elegant Carden Park Golf Resort & Spa near Chester. During the day, the event took on a standard conference and business meeting format, with an adjoining exhibit area in the venue. The meeting space then morphed into a gala dinner/awards ceremony and cabaret for the evening, hosted by Tony Hawkes.

He previously worked as operations and circulation director of MEN Media for 16 years, and believes his experience with the newspaper’s pressures and tight deadlines will help him in his new role handling the daily operations at dbn.

dbn Helps Manchester’s Holiday Season Switch-On

MANCHESTER, UK – Lighting and rigging company dbn supplied stage lighting for the city’s 2012 Festive Season lighting switch-on. dbn’s Andy Kennett designed the lighting, making sure to light the audience as well as the stage action and to create effects that involved everyone as a whole. This is also why there was a concentration of beam type effects in the design to skim over the audience and also to highlight some of the buildings.

Games Time for dbn Lighting

MANCHESTER, UK – dbn designed and supplied a ground support system for the “Games Time” outdoor stage spectacular, which played its final performance recently at Derby. The show, produced by Walk The Plank and Déda, was a mixed-media performance combining music, dance, video, lighting and pyrotechnics. Four teams sporting carnival style costumes competed to win the ‘Games Time’ Finale.

SCUNTHORPE, UK – dbn supplied lighting equipment and design for the recent production of “Cycle Song” on the grounds of Brumby Hall, Scunthorpe.The show told the story of Albert ‘Lal’ White, Scunthorpe steelworker and award-winning cyclist. dbn’s Pete Robinson created a lighting design for the show. It featured a stark atmospheric distressed industrial set designed by Rhys Jarman, a cast of hundreds and two massive cranes, which were used in the finale to help the moon rise.
