2022 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awardees Announced

TDF, the not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts, is proud to announce that celebrated costume designer Fred Voelpel and legendary scenic designer Eugene Lee are among the 2022 TDF/Irene Sharaff Award recipients. Although Voelpel passed away in June, he will be honored posthumously with the TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design while Lee will receive The Robert L. B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design. Additionally, costume designer Dede Ayite will receive the TDF/Kitty Leech Young Master Award and visual artist Michael Curry will receive the TDF/Irene Sharaff Artisan Award.

The awards ceremony will be presented through the TDF Costume Collection on Friday, October 7 at 6:30 p.m. at The Edison Ballroom. 37th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards Recipients Announced

The 2022 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed out on Sunday, May 1, 2022, to recipients in 16 categories, with two honorary awards also bestowed. Returning to a live, in-person ceremony for the first time in three years, the Awards were distributed in a ceremony at NYU Skirball. Winners of the 94th Annual Academy Awards

The 94th Oscars® were held on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles televised live on ABC and in more than 200 territories worldwide. Production designer and creative director David Korins returned to the Oscars, having previously been the designer in 2019, for which he received an Emmy nomination. Lighting designer Robert Dickinson returned for his 33rd Oscars show.  During his three-decades long career, he has won 18 Primetime Emmy Awards, including three for Oscars telecasts, and has over 1,500 on-screen television credits.

The nominees for the 94th Annual Academy Awards were announced this morning, February 8, 2022. The 94th Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the Dolby® Theatre at Hollywood & Highland® in Hollywood and will be televised live on ABC at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. USA/U.K. – USITT and Arts University Bournemouth are once again collaborating to bring you the 2021 Virtual Costume Symposium—a virtual costume study tour to introduce participants to British costume for theatre and film through the study of historical costume. This will run on Zoom from July 26 – August 6, 2021, with daily sessions at 11:00 a.m. EDT/4:00 p.m. BST.
