City Theatrical launched its newest addition to the QolorFLEX® brand of professional LED Tape, Dimming Control and Accessories with QolorFLEX 25x3A Dimmer (P/N 5811), which is a low voltage, constant voltage, dimmer that is designed for large installations of LED tape. Bringing Down the Chandelier on Broadway’s ‘The Phantom of the Opera’
Broadway’s longest running show in history, The Phantom of the Opera, takes its final bows and will go dark, closing in mid-April. PLSN speaks with some of the creative and production team who have been with the show since the beginning 35 years ago. Sharing their thoughts are Lighting Designer Andrew Bridge, Associate LD Vivien Leone, Head Electrician Alan Lampel. We also talk with Gary Fails about the fog system, which is integral to the overall impact of the show.

City Theatrical Plans Webinar Series Covering Wireless DMX
CARLSTADT, NJ — City Theatrical is offering a series of free webinars on wireless DMX including a general overview of wireless DMX (Aug. 27), a focus on the new SHoW DMX SHoW Baby 5 (Sept. 24), a focus on complex multi-universe wireless DMX systems and SHoW DMX Neo (Oct. 29), a focus on setting up permanent outdoor architectural wireless DMX systems with SHoW DMX Vero and Vero Net (Dec. 10) and a focus on the use of wireless DMX with specialized antennas (Jan. 7, 2014). All webinars are scheduled for Tuesdays, and all begin at 11am EST.
City Theatrical’s Wireless DMX Runs ‘Chocolate Factory’ Musical
LONDON – The new musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, has been the most eagerly anticipated opening in London’s West End this year. With direction by Sam Mendes, set and costume design by Mark Thompson, and lighting design by Paul Pyant, it is this summer’s golden ticket. City Theatrical worked closely with UK specialist lighting contractor Howard Eaton to realize the demanding wireless DMX requirements.
