The stately brick building with the vaulted roof at 730 South Florida Avenue in Lakeland, FL stood as a reassuring landmark for residents of the Lake Morton Historic District since its opening in 1925. A particular feature that was a favorite was the large rectangular, arch-topped stained-glass windows that lined the building’s sides, and the base of its belfry tower. ‘Scalable’ Artiste Monet™ Carries the Load on Kelsea Ballerini ‘Heartfirst’ Tour

Country music artist Kelsea Ballerini’s popular Heartfirst tour moved outside in June and July with a lighting design by Nick Chang that featured Elation Professional’s versatile Artiste Monet™ LED profile moving head, along with Smarty MAX™ luminaires. The tour, extended to a third leg due to overwhelming demand, travelled all over the country. Some beautiful design work was nominated for the 76th Annual TONY Awards this year and selecting winners was surely a difficult task. In Memoriam: James Moody, Designer, Author, Teacher, Mentor, 80

Designer James L. Moody died on Monday, February 20, 2023, at the age of 80. Lighting Designer for theater, concerts, and television as well as professor, lecturer, author, and mentor, Moody had an amazing and varied career.

We send our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues on his passing. Vari-Lite VL1600 Profile Adds Textures and Effects at Northwest Bible Church, Dallas

The multi-generational Northwest Bible Church in Dallas, TX, ramped up atmospheric looks and festive lighting effects for a series of concerts in December, rigging Vari-Lite VL1600 Profile luminaires from Signify. The church’s Lighting Director Matthew Hughes worked with Tyler Gannaway, Vari-Lite Business Development Manager Central and Eastern Rental & Touring at Signify, to source the VL1600 fixtures.
