MoMA Exhibition Relies on Christie Digital Projectors

NEW YORK — For the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)’s moving image exhibition, Isaac Julien: Ten Thousand Waves, Michael Andrews Audio Visual Services (MAAVS) provided eight Christie WU14K-M WUXGA DLP projectors and one Christie HD14K-M 1080 HD DLP projector. The installation is in MoMA’s Donald B. and Catherine C. Marron Atrium.

Los Alamos National Lab Upgrades with Christie

LOS ALAMOS, NM – Los Alamos National Laboratory has selected Christie for an extensive upgrade to its Powerwall Theater (PWT), a facility that enables researchers to view the complex models and simulations they have created using some of the world’s fastest supercomputers. The new theater will feature 40 Christie Mirage WU-L WUXGA DLP 3D LED projectors in a 5 wide by 4 high node grid configuration with double-stacked projectors in each node onto a new high fidelity glass Stewart filmscreen.

Christie Magnifies Buddhist Art at Longmen Grottoes

LUOYANG, China – Christie and partner, Wincomn Technology Development Co Ltd (Wincomn), restores the essence of ancient art at Longmen Grottoes, one of China’s most revered cave shrines carved with intriguing Buddhist sculptures that earned its recognition as a UNESCO heritage site. Christie projectors display multimedia contents representing the expressions of the Buddhas and other statues, using projection mapping on the uneven surfaces of the Fengxian Temple.

Christie Engages Participants at T.I.N.Y Multimedia Exhibit

NEW YORK CITY –  At the Marina at Pier 57, Christie M-Series HD projectors are helping visitors “travel” through New York City by creating a multisensory experience for The Interactive New York (T.I.N.Y) exhibition, an interactive multimedia art installation by video artist Garson Yu. The exhibit is inspired by New York City as a living organism, and will let visitors interact with video and sound reminiscent of traveling in the city.

Christie Solara Projectors for ‘Gatsby’ World Premiere

NEW YORK CITY —The world premiere of the film “The Great Gatsby” lit up the screen in 3-D with Christie Solaria Series digital cinema projectors. The star-studded event took place at Avery Fisher Hall. Christie dealer Digital Media Systems selected two Christie CP4230 DLP digital cinema projectors for the screening, which converged the light from two projectors to create a seamless image projected onto a silver screen.

CYPRESS, CA – The Tucson, Arizona-based Casas Church upgraded its old projector system with Christie Roadster HD14K-J 3-chip DLP projectors for its 2,500-seat sanctuary and worship center. Phoenix-based Audio Video Resources recommended a new HD projection system based on a dual-screen configuration that provides a better viewing experience for the congregation.

PUGET SOUND, WA – Christie Technology brings the past to life at Tillicum Village, a Native American cultural experience, with holographic images powered by two Christie HD10K-M Series 3-chip DLP projectors. Using built-in Christie AutoStack and Christie Twist, the projectors cast holographic images onto a screen of a storyteller interacting with live actors and drummers throughout the performance on stage, helping capture tribal traditions. The images are so life-like, sometimes the audience wonders why the storyteller doesn’t take a bow at the end.
