Chris Lisle and Elation Keep the Beat on Lollapalooza Perry’s Stage

It’s been a busy year for lighting and production designer Chris Lisle and his company CLLD. The production design firm recently wrapped up work on Lollapalooza, their sixth major event back to back, where they relied on an Elation-centered rig including Proteus series IP65 luminaires to light Perry’s Stage.

Nashville Celebrates Independence Day with Bandit Lites

Hundreds of thousands of people gathered in downtown Nashville to celebrate the Fourth of July with a big concert event and fireworks show in the heart of Music City. Bandit Lites provided lighting for two stages: the main stage on Broadway featuring Old Dominion and 17 Nashville-based artists, and the Ascend Amphitheater where the Nashville Symphony Orchestra performed.

The Festival Landscape

After two summers of waiting, festivals are once again flourishing, bringing musicians, fans and production partners together. But while their sudden return is a welcome development for the live event production industry, the festival landscape in 2022 is not without its challenges. Foster the People fans at the recent Firefly Festival June 21-23 in Dover, Delaware, were treated to a specially designed one-off production to tie in with the band’s new album in progress. “The show design was based around seven towers, eight to 28 feet high, that all rotated for a constantly evolving environment,” said Trevor Stirlin Burk, the production designer, creative director and show director of Foster the People.“We also collaborated with The Los Angeles Contemporary Dance company. It was super ambitious for the band to want to do a brand new production from scratch, specifically for Firefly. By all accounts it paid off.”
