The first series of dates on ADJ’s Step Into The Light road tour, which took place over the summer, were a resounding success. Each event attracted an engaged group of local lighting professionals who enjoyed the opportunity to learn, network and check out the latest ADJ fixtures. ADJ is pleased to now be able to announce the next phase of tour dates.

OSA Lights Up Peter Frampton’s ‘Never Say Never’ Tour

OSA International, a full-service production company with offices in Nashville, Las Vegas, and Chicago, is supplying the lighting gear and product support for Peter Frampton’s comeback tour, Never Say Never. To visually bring his shows to life in concert, Frampton turned to Lighting Designer and Emmy-award winner Gregg Maltby and a full complement of OSA lighting. Claypaky Xtylos Deliver Post-Apocalyptic Look for Muse’s ‘Will of the People’

British rock band Muse has hit the road with its North American tour, Will of the People, on which more than 150 Claypaky Xtylos enhance the band’s post-apocalyptic staging non-stop. The tour is named for the band’s most recent ninth studio album, which gave Muse its seventh consecutive No. 1 on the UK albums chart and topped Billboard’s Alternative and Rock Albums tallies. Chelsea Antrim Dennis Joins the Washington National Opera as Director of Production

Washington National Opera General Director Timothy O’Leary and Artistic Director Francesca Zambello announce two new appointments that will oversee the newly defined Artistic and Production departments. The delineation aims to create clearer lines of responsibility, a more sustainable workload for Washington National Opera (WNO) staff, and new support for WNO’s mission. Chelsea Antrim Dennis will join WNO as Director of Production, beginning August 7, 2023. Dennis comes to WNO from Santa Fe Opera, where she currently serves as Director of Production and where she began her career in 2004. Willa Kim Scholarship & Exhibition; News from Perdue and USITT

The Theatre Communications Group (TCG) has announced the recipients of 2023 The Willa Kim Costume Design Scholarship, honoring costume designer Willa Kim’s legacy and her life’s work as a pioneer, legend, and inspiration for many of today’s theater artists. Kim’s iconic work in ballet, theater, opera, and television is also the subject of a career spanning retrospective at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts as noted in this month’s theater news, along with a new online course in Structures for the Stage from Purdue University. We also look at USITT’s Gateway Program and USITT’s 2023 Joel E. Rubin Founders Award honoree, Elynmarie Kazle.
