A lighting designer for over 15 years, Wilkinson has been involved in shows, large and small, in all kinds of theatres, but it wasn’t until this January when working on The Wizard of Oz at the Grand Theatre that he lit a theatrical production with a video wall backdrop.Read More »Ollie Wilkinson Balances Video and Light for ‘The Wizard Of Oz’ with CHAUVET Professional

András Praksch and CHAUVET Professional Help Republic Celebrate Boros:60 in Budapest

The worst band in Hungry! The popular quintet, Republic, has, on occasion, introduced themselves as such, tongue planted firmly in cheek. Of course, anyone familiar with this legendary group knows that this sort of ironic, self-deprecating humor, is in keeping with the freewheeling, let’s-not-take-things-(or ourselves)-too seriously attitude that has marked their stellar career.Read More »András Praksch and CHAUVET Professional Help Republic Celebrate Boros:60 in Budapest

SJ Grevett Energized M-Shaped MOBO Awards Rig With CHAUVET Professional and DMX Productions

Stuck smack in the middle of the alphabet, the letter “M” has a bit of an identity crisis. Being the 13th letter, it’s sometimes associated with bad luck. Palm readers say it portends danger when it’s formed by the lines in your writing hand. On the other hand, though, it’s also a sign of wealth, being used as a symbol for money; not to mention that marketers regard it as one of the most visually pleasing letters, the only one in the alphabet to have a candy (M&M) named after it.Read More »SJ Grevett Energized M-Shaped MOBO Awards Rig With CHAUVET Professional and DMX Productions

Fineline Lighting and CHAUVET Professional Help Will Furze Reflect Energy of Skid Row on Tour

More than 30 years after they became the very first metal band to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard charts with 1991’s “Slave To The Grind,” Skid Row still has plenty of highly combustible fuel left in the tank. This was breathtakingly evident on the last leg of the band’s 2022 Gangs All Here tour in support of their new album, and their first with their new lead singer, winner of Swedish Idol, Erik Gronwall.Read More »Fineline Lighting and CHAUVET Professional Help Will Furze Reflect Energy of Skid Row on Tour

Ecom Events Adds to the Enchantment of Fiers à Cheval with CHAUVET Professional

We think of our creations as an invitation to dream,” Jean-Baptiste Duperray, founder and artistic director of La Compagnie des Quidams has said. This invitation was eagerly accepted recently by all who visited the historic Château des ducs de Bretagne on the banks of the Loire to see the talented street art group’s “Fiers à Cheval” performance.  There, as the show’s large, self-lit inflatable horses floated in the air, flowing in harmony with metamorphic human artists,  the imagination of spectators took flight.  Read More »Ecom Events Adds to the Enchantment of Fiers à Cheval with CHAUVET Professional

CHAUVET Professional Helps Alec Takahashi Connect Thomas Rhett To Crowd

Location, they say, “is everything” in retailing; well, it’s pretty important in live touring too. Just ask Alec Takahashi, the long-time lighting designer for country superstar Thomas Rhett. Lighting the multi-platinum singer/songwriter’s Bring The Bar To You tour, the LD could sense the crowd enter different emotional spaces as his client moved from one location on the set to another. “We had a B stage that Thomas Rhett walked on for a few songs,” said Takahashi. “This allowed us to create stripped down moments for him to get closer to fans. When he did this, the crowd subconsciously relaxed and became a little loose. You could literally feel the crowd relax and engage when he moved to that stage, and then you could feel the energy skyrocket with no walls when he returned to a full band performance on the main stage.”Read More »CHAUVET Professional Helps Alec Takahashi Connect Thomas Rhett To Crowd
