George Cannon and 4Wall DC Production Work Magic at National Building Museum with CHAUVET Professional

It’s been said that every great building has a personality. The massive Renaissance Revival structure, located just a little over a mile from The White House, hosts many of them within its towering walls. Home of The National Building Museum, it features multiple exhibits of architectural brilliance, but in terms of “personality,” this 137-year-old structure makes an impression that is second to none. That much is evident when visitors enter this mammoth structure (its interior measures 316 x 116 feet), and encounter its eight sequoia-like columns, inspired by Trajan’s Column of ancient Rome. Carlos Katsurayama Calls on CHAUVET Professional to Keep Pace with The Struts

Just about everyone who saw The Struts on the UK band’s recently concluded North American tour felt two things when they left one of its sold-out shows: exhilarated and exhausted. “Exhilarated,” because the irrepressible glam rockers kept pedal to the metal with their relentless stage presence and hard-driving music from the moment they kicked things off with “Dirty Sexy Money.”  And “exhausted,” well… that was due to many of the same reasons, as the high-powered quartet continued to engage their audience with intense crowd interactions and singalongs throughout their 19-song set.Read More »Carlos Katsurayama Calls on CHAUVET Professional to Keep Pace with The Struts

Eric Nam’s ‘House on a Hill’ Tour Radiates Excitement with Julien Reux and CHAUVET Professional

Eric Nam is a “natural born performer,” wrote one admiring critic when describing the US-born and South Korean-based star’s recently concluded House on a Hill North American tour. The multi-talented Nam’s smooth, engaging personality does indeed make him seem right at home on stage, but why stop there? His incredibly broad vocal range and graceful hip-swiveling dance moves propel him beyond the category of “performer,” and into the realm of pure artist. Erik McCandless Pixel Maps Entire Rig for Gabby Barrett with Help From CHAUVET Professional

Gabby Barrett had two simple words of advice for Erik McCandless when he set out to design the show for her 45-city 2023 North American tour: think big!  The rising, young multi-platinum country star wasn’t thinking about the size of her rig, or its punching power. She was more interested in how expansive it could be in terms of incorporating different looks. That made her an ideal client as far as this LD was concerned.Read More »Erik McCandless Pixel Maps Entire Rig for Gabby Barrett with Help From CHAUVET Professional

RS Buck Accents Deep Characters in ‘Last Summer at Bluefish Cove’ with CHAUVET Professional

There are strong evocative feelings tied to time and place in Jane Chambers’ 1980 landmark play, Last Summer at Bluefish Cove. That’s often the case with cultural milestones, a category this play certainly fits into, being the first major lesbian drama. Lighting Designer R.S. Buck and the rest of the production team certainly appreciated the significance of this when they worked on a recent production of the 43-year-old classic at the Fountain Theatre, but their vision extended beyond the play’s historical context to focus on the stories of the eight women portrayed in this compelling drama.Read More »RS Buck Accents Deep Characters in ‘Last Summer at Bluefish Cove’ with CHAUVET Professional

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2023 Ceremony Shines with 4Wall and CHAUVET Professional

Four hours and twenty-two minutes is quite a long time; about an hour longer than it takes to fly from New York to Miami, almost twice as long as the average NBA game, and even longer than Bruce Springsteen’s longest show, a four-hour-and-six-minute performance that took place in Helsinki in 2012.Read More »Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2023 Ceremony Shines with 4Wall and CHAUVET Professional

District 5 Colorizes The Band Camino’s Screaming in the Dark Tour with CHAUVET Professional

Color has always been “a huge part of our design process,” Dayne deHaven says of the work that he and his collaborator at the District 5 design studio, Tyler Shapard, have been doing for The Band Camino. Fans of the red-hot rock-pop trio would readily agree; the band’s music is so evocative, that each song calls out for its own distinct color signature. Ironically, though, on the band’s recently concluded 25-date tour, the show begins in virtual darkness, as eerie electronic sounds resonate over a blacked-out stage. That’s only fitting, since the tour was called Screaming in the Dark, a nod to the group’s latest hit album The Dark.Read More »District 5 Colorizes The Band Camino’s Screaming in the Dark Tour with CHAUVET Professional

It came as a surprise to many when USM Alger of Algeria upset heavily favored Al Ahly SC of Egypt at the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup 2023 to be crowned the king of African football. The team from Cairo was established as a perennial football (soccer) power, and few expected they would lose to the Algerian underdogs, but surprises were everywhere on the field at the King Fahd Stadium as the teams battled in this 1-0 game.Read More »Concept K Brings Added Energy to African Super Cup with CHAUVET Professional
