Squeek Lights’ Victor Zeiser Gets Back Behind Desk for The Dillinger Escape Plan with CHAUVET Professional

Friday, June 21 marked a momentous day for fans of extreme metal music.  On that evening Dimitri Minakakis returned to join The Dillinger Escape Plan for the first of three shows at the Brooklyn Paramount Theatre, held to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the band’s seminal ‘Calculating Infinity’ album. Also making a return, though it was after a far shorter hiatus, was Victor Zeiser, Owner of Squeek Lights.

Kevin Northrup and Will Lowdermilk Light Hootie & the Blowfish Tour with CHAUVET Professional

It was “a perfect show on a perfect night” one local newspaper critic wrote of Hootie & the Blowfish’s appearance at Michigan’s Pine Knob, speaking for the 14,000 fans who packed the amphitheater earlier this summer. This sentiment is being echoed (weather permitting) at every other stop on the iconic alt rockers’ 43-city ‘Summer Camp With Trucks’ tour.

Jon Kusner Lights Concert at Michigan Central Station with 4Wall and CHAUVET Professional

Close collaboration between a lighting and video team is always essential. The fine points of this relationship take on an extra level of urgency when the sun starts setting on an outdoor broadcast production. This point was driven home to multi-Prime Time Emmy Award winning Lighting Designer/Director Jon Kusner on June 6, when he lit the grand reopening of the iconic Michigan Central Station.

Daniel Knipper Enchants at Strasbourg Cathedral With CHAUVET Professional

Lighting Designer Daniel Knipper used 24 CHAUVET Professional Ovation Rêve E-3 IP LED ellipsoidals in his transformative design for the six-century-old Strasbourg Cathedral located in Place de la Cathédrale in Strasbourg, France. The full-spectrum color-mixing fixtures, which were supplied by XEOS, were hung on two porticos that flanked the façade. This  arrangement allowed Knipper to highlight the architectural details of the façade by creating gobos based on digital photos.

Over 500 Guests Celebrate Light, Learning, and Good Times at LTT Workshop

The numbers speak for themselves.  Over 5,700 kilometers traveled, 14 cities visited, 500 visitors participating, and 222 very large mouthwatering pizzas ordered.  They paint an impressive picture of the 2024 LTT Free Lighting Workshops. As remarkable as they are, however, these figures tell only part of the story. Of more lasting value are the knowledge gained, connections formed, and new horizons explored at this series of dynamic events.

Erik Mahowald Accents EDC bassPod Architecture with CHAUVET Professional

The architectural design of the Insomniac Events Electric Daisy Festival’s bassPOD stage is impressive by any measure. But there is more than size to this stunning structure designed by STUFISH Entertainment Architects. With its shapes and forms extending in every direction, and at multiple levels, it presents a labyrinth of possibilities. Erik Mahowald, of Bending Lite Productions, was tasked with making it come alive and accenting all its compelling power with light.

Paul Maloof Flows on Say Anything Tour with CHAUVET Professional and JDI Productions

Paul Maloof says he’s the kind of person who loves a challenge. He’s also always open to new experiences. Good thing, because he’s getting his share of both with indie icons Say Anything on their 27-city Is A Real Boy 20th Anniversary Tour. Although they’ve recorded nine albums, in addition to appearing in films and on network TV shows over the past two decades, the popular six-member band has never carried their own LD with them on tour. For his part, Maloof, though admiring their music, was not very familiar with Say Anything’s songs.Read More »Paul Maloof Flows on Say Anything Tour with CHAUVET Professional and JDI Productions

SJ Grevett and DMX Productions Create Varied Looks for MOBO Awards with CHAUVET Professional

“From the moment you approached Utilita Arena, you could feel the excitement and energy in the air.” That’s how one journalist described the 26th annual MOBO Awards.  True enough — but the magical mood was even more transformative inside the 11,000-capacity facility, thanks to the persona and performances of the special guests and honorees at the UK’s biggest celebration of Black music and culture.Read More »SJ Grevett and DMX Productions Create Varied Looks for MOBO Awards with CHAUVET Professional

Creating Candy at Coachella for Jon Batiste with Shepherd Lowrey & CHAUVET Professional

Describing Jon Batiste’s uplifting appearance at Coachella’s Outdoor Theatre in a few words is as impossible as applying a single label to the festival itself. Even by the standards of an event famous for its soaring diversity and originality, the multi-Grammy winning artist stood out for the sheer breadth of his brilliantly nuanced performance. Starting off with “Tell The Truth,” a lively R&B classic and moving on to funky songs like “Freedom,” and the spiritually tinged hit “Butterfly,” Batiste, his band, and a variety of special guests took fans on a musical odyssey that included everything from covers of Beatles songs, to the classic from his hometown, New Orleans “When The Saints Go Marching In.”Read More »Creating Candy at Coachella for Jon Batiste with Shepherd Lowrey & CHAUVET Professional

Milton De La Cruz Makes Light Waves at Petronio Alvarez Festival with CHAUVET Professional

The Petronio Alvarez festival, affectionately called “El Petronio,” has no trouble making news. A signature event in Cali, the six-day celebration of music, food, and culture, draws over a half-million people to the city’s la Unidad Deportiva Alberto Galindo sports complex. It’s been that way for 27 years, but last summer the festival made news of a different kind when local news outlets were buzzing with reports of UFO sightings.Read More »Milton De La Cruz Makes Light Waves at Petronio Alvarez Festival with CHAUVET Professional
