MACON, GA — Audio Visual Services, based here, is supporting R&B standout Anthony Hamilton with a rig that includes Chauvet Professional Q-Wash 560Z-LED fixtures. LD Brandon Thomas swapped out 60 1000W PARs with 12 of the Q-Wash fixtures, sharply reducing both the heat generation and energy required to wash Hamilton’s performance spaces with light.
Chauvet Professional cites ease of pixel-mapping as a key benefit for its ÉPIX 2.0 LED display fixtures. The system component that makes this possible, the company notes, is the ÉPIX Drive 642, pictured here. It’s a dedicated controller that is Art-Net and Kling-Net compatible.
Chauvet Professional’s COLORdash Batten-Hex 8 joins the company’s other linear LED wash fixtures. The fixture features eight 10W “Hex” LEDs — six-color modules including red, green, blue, amber, white and UV diodes on a single chip. The unit measures 23 inches (584 mm) and comes with Neutrik powerCON input/output connectors and 3- and 5-pin DMX in/out for easy power and data daisy-chaining. Up to 11 COLORdash Batten-Hex 8 units can be linked at 120V, and 20 units at 230V.

MIAMI — LD Dan Cohen of UpLyte used 168 Chauvet Professional fixtures for Chris Bosh’s 30th birthday party. The event, organized by Bosh’s wife, Adrienne, included other Miami Heat basketball players along with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, rapper Ty Dolla $ign, Gary Owens and Gabrielle Union.
Chauvet Professional’s new Rogue series of moving head fixtures extends features like LED gobo morphing, variable speed scrolling and multi-prism rotation into tight-budget territory. The series currently includes four fixtures: two spots (Rogue R1 Spot, Rogue R2 Spot) and two beam fixtures (Rogue R1 Beam – pictured here – and the Rogue R2 Beam).
MIAMI — Design Oasis supported a concert featuring Julio Iglesias on Feb. 22 at the American Airlines Arena here, providing 190 PVP S5 panels from Chauvet Professional. The panels, which formed a 31 by 16.4 foot wall, were programmed by Scott Chmielewski of DMD s7udios and reinforced the connection between the artist and his audience.
