Steve McCracken Celebrates Stereofunk ‘First Festival of Summer’ With ChamSys

Writing about this year’s edition of the Stereofunk Festival, one critic declared: “it isn’t just a music festival; it’s a vibrant D.I.Y community… a whirlwind of art and culture.” At the center of this “whirlwind” (at least as far as the performances on the main stage were concerned) was Steve McCracken of Mac-Events, who used the ChamSys Stadium MagicQ MQ250M to busk lightshows for Wanda Dee, iconic hip-hop artists from The Bronx, Vengoboys, a Top-10 Dutch Euro-dance group, and Urban Cookie Collective, a UK electronic duo, along with a wide range of other global acts.Read More »Steve McCracken Celebrates Stereofunk ‘First Festival of Summer’ With ChamSys

At times during his performances on his recent arena tour of the US/Israeli superstar Eden Hason seemed to be elevated in space as if he were seeking to connect himself and the audience to some higher, more hopeful meaning. Johnny Marr had some very definite ideas about the kinds of looks he wanted on stage for his Greatest Hits tour, which kicked off at Newcastle’s O2 City Hall on April 2.  The rock legend, who first gained fame for his jangly guitar as a member of The Smiths, found an ideal collaborator to help him create the production he had in mind – and he didn’t even need to look very far.

Niller Bjerregaard Creates Theatrical Looks for Jacob Dinesen Tour with ChamSys

On the surface, at least, the metal sound of King Diamond is quite different from the folk-inspired pop-rock music of GAFFA Award nominee Jacob Dinesen. But in terms of the type of stage production their performances inspire, the two gifted artists share much in common. Just as music is a “universal language,” so too is lighting design. Niller Bjerregaard is proving that night after night on the Danish singer-songwriter’s 40-city 2024 tour of Europe. Bjerregaard, of Happy Light Guy, who has achieved global acclaim for lighting metal arena tours, has found that his current work for Jacob Dinesen has led him to reignite many ideas from his early work for King Diamond.Read More »Niller Bjerregaard Creates Theatrical Looks for Jacob Dinesen Tour with ChamSys

Joe Beardsmore Flows on Tom Odell’s ‘Black Friday Tour’ with CHAUVET & Colour Sound Experiment

The deepest emotions tend to live in that area between light and darkness, where nebulous boundaries give them endless space to expand and shrink, twist and turn in infinite directions. By devising such a space on stage for Tom Odell’s Black Friday Tour, Joe Beardsmore created the ideal visual setting for music that one critic aptly described as “a raw emotional masterpiece.” Busking his show on a ChamSys MagicQ 250M Stadium console, Beardsmore of Phosphor, moved seamlessly in sync with the Brit Award winning singer-songwriter and his seven-piece band, blending shadows and brightness, silhouettes, and distinctive light angles to underscore the heartfelt narrative of this roughly 90-minute show.
