TCG Announces RECOGNIZE Grantees for THRIVE! Uplifting Theatres of Color

$900,000 in General Operating Support Awarded to 22 Theatres

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) is pleased to announce the recipients of RECOGNIZE grants as part of the THRIVE! Uplifting Theatres of Color program. With $1,635,000 in support from Doris Duke Charitable Foundation (DDCF), TCG is working in partnership with an Advisory Circle of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC*) to provide unrestricted funds for Black theatres, Indigenous theatres and Theatres of Color (BITOC*) based in the U.S. (including Tribal Nations and U.S. Territories). In this inaugural round of the program, The Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation has joined as a supporting partner for theatres in Western states. ADJ Lights Up Iggy Azalea & Natalia Jiménez at Long Beach Pride 2022

This summer’s Pride Parade in Long Beach, CA was accompanied by a two-day, two-stage festival featuring Iggy Azalea, Natalia Jiménez and more. Islay Events lit the performances with an array of fixtures including ADJ Hydro Beam X2 and Focus Spot 4Z moving heads, Jolt 300 washes, and IP65-rated 18P HEX IP LED par fixtures.

A Celebration of Life for Randy Mayer is set for Saturday, Oct. 15. Mayer, longtime Director of Concert Touring for Screenworks/NEP, died Aug. 2, 2022. The event starts at 1 p.m. at The Majestic Ventura Theatre, located at 26 S. Chestnut St., Ventura, CA 93001. All are invited to gather to remember a life well lived.

Old Town Temecula Community Theater Invests Heavily in ADJ Automated Fixtures

The Old Town Temecula Community Theater in California recently completed an extensive upgrade of its lighting system using almost exclusively led-powered ADJ fixtures. Now featuring in excess of 100 ADJ moving head luminaries, the venue’s lighting rig offers the versatility required by a busy venue hosting a varied calendar of theatrical, musical, and dance productions.
