Bringing Down the Chandelier on Broadway’s ‘The Phantom of the Opera’

Broadway’s longest running show in history, The Phantom of the Opera, takes its final bows and will go dark, closing in mid-April. PLSN speaks with some of the creative and production team who have been with the show since the beginning 35 years ago. Sharing their thoughts are Lighting Designer Andrew Bridge, Associate LD Vivien Leone, Head Electrician Alan Lampel. We also talk with Gary Fails about the fog system, which is integral to the overall impact of the show.

2022 Macroblock Online Symposium: Drive the Metaverse with Leading Display Technology

Macroblock held its 2022 online symposium on November 9. The theme this year was Drive a Whole New World – Metaverse. The Macroblock lecturers went deep into the metaverse from different applications, including VR headsets, smart cockpits, and LED displays. In the presentation, they covered how to realize the metaverse concept and how to deal with those challenges within this area through Macroblock products and technologies. TCG Announces RECOGNIZE Grantees for THRIVE! Uplifting Theatres of Color

$900,000 in General Operating Support Awarded to 22 Theatres

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) is pleased to announce the recipients of RECOGNIZE grants as part of the THRIVE! Uplifting Theatres of Color program. With $1,635,000 in support from Doris Duke Charitable Foundation (DDCF), TCG is working in partnership with an Advisory Circle of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC*) to provide unrestricted funds for Black theatres, Indigenous theatres and Theatres of Color (BITOC*) based in the U.S. (including Tribal Nations and U.S. Territories). In this inaugural round of the program, The Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation has joined as a supporting partner for theatres in Western states.
