Bandit ‘Crowns’ Regal Entertainment Conference

KNOXVILLE, TN – Movie theatre company Regal Entertainment Group recently held its General Manager Conference at the Knoxville Convention Center. Bandit Lites supplied lighting for the three-day event. One of the challenges was creating different looks for each meal – breakfast, lunch and dinner – all taking place in the same room.

NASHVILLE – ETC’s recent training session for factory representatives on their new Prodigy variable speed rigging featured a Bandit Lites’ installation at a Nashville school. Bandits’ director of sales, Chris Barbee, was on site to offer insight into installing the new rigging system.

Bandit Redesigns Lighting System at Bayou Music Center

HOUSTON – Bandit Lites recently redesigned the lighting at the Bayou Music Center in Houston. Inn five days, Bandit gutted the stage and house lighting systems and installed a completely new system, including LED fixtures for low maintenance and reduced energy costs.

Shinedown, Three Days Grace Rock with Bandit

KNOXVILLE, TN – Bandit Lites is out on the road with co-headlining bands Shinedown and Three Days Grace. Shinedown LD Carter Fulghum and Three Days Grace LD Mike Filsinger worked together on the shared rig. “Designing a rig for two artists can be a challenge,” said Filsinger. “Keeping both bands happy both visually and financially can turn into a full-on brawl but luckily in this case, it was a breeze.”

Trumpet Awards Shine with Mark Carver and Bandit Lites

ATLANTA – Bandit Lites worked again with LD Mark Carver in lighting The Annual Trumpet Awards. The special event honoring the accomplishments of African-Americans took place Jan. 26 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. Carver was challenged with designing an elegant space that would render well on television. House lights were eliminated, and as award winners made their way to the stage from the audience, Carver paid special attention to lighting the audience in addition to the presenters and performers.

Andy Reese Joins Bandit Technical Service Staff

NASHVILLE – Andy Reese has joined Bandit Lites’ Technical Services Department as a technical assistant. His job is to coordinate with the technical services and sales departments to ensure that everyone gets the parts and supplies they need. He moved to Nashville after working in Tulsa, OK, as both an event and operations coordinator for the BOK Center and as the changeover manager for the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

LD Mark Carver Teams with Bandit on Country Showdown

NASHVILLE – Bandit Lites providing lighting for the 31st Annual Texaco Country Showdown, a long-running country talent search, Jan. 17 at The Ryman Auditorium. Host was singer/songwriter Jewel. LD Mark Carver has provided the lighting design for the contest for several years. The event will air on TV starting in March.

Bandit Provides Production for 10 Years Band

KNOXVILLE, TN – LD Will Twork designed two shows in one for the band 10 Years, who returned to their roots for a concert in late December. With production from Bandit Lites, the event featured two sets from the band: an acoustic set with a string trio and a heavy metal portion from their most recent album.

Bandit Supplies Fictitious Concert for ABC’s ‘Nashville’

NASHVILLE – The concert wasn’t real but the lighting was. For an upcoming episode of ABC TV’s new hit series Nashville, fading country star Rayna Jaymes (Connie Britton) and rising country ingénue, Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) find themselves on a co-headlining stadium tour. The producers turned to Bandit Lites to provide concert lighting for the fictitious show, shot at Bridgestone Arena.

Bandit Lites Angel Tree Program Gives Back

KNOXVILLE, TN – Through its annual Angel Tree charity efforts, participating Bandit Lites employees provided gifts for local families who have fallen on hard times, in both Knoxville and Nashville. In the lobby of each Bandit office, employees decorated a Christmas tree with angels requesting items for families in need. Items range from necessities to children’s gifts.
